Suprisingly Nice.
I didn't have high expectations because we went just for the casino but we actually had a great time. The room was nice and the restaurant was excellent. The front desk was polite and quick. The hotel is located right on the border which is convenient but there isn't much there but the Hotel. All in all it was a great time and I will be staying there again in the future.

Hotel Carnavale - Slovenia border near Trieste
I stayed only one night at this hotel, which is just across the border in Slovenia from Trieste. I should have gone 10km further to stay in Koper (Capodistria). The night I arrived, there was a wedding party going on, so the restaurant was closed. They put us up in the casino area (small) where for 5 euros they give you a nice rubber chicken dinner. No options. I would recommend travelers go elsewhere for the night - Koper is nearby and very reasonable and has a beautiful old down to see. Nothing but a petrol station in front of Carnavale Casino.

Great staff, not so great air conditioning!
Overall the stay was good - the restaurant was excellent and the staff were fantastic. Very kindly made our honeymoon stay one to remember. Unfortunately though the room was very hot as the air conditioning wasn't very efficient. On a cooler day though (it was 30deg outside when we stayed) it would have been perfect! Very smart and clean hotel.

Reasonably comfortable good value hotel
Small lobby and bar area divide the ground floor between the restaurant and the casino. Heavy rather fussy furnishings populate the public areas and bedrooms, although both appear pretty clean and generally comfortable. Beds are rather hard and the airconditioning would not adjust to a reasonable temperature (and rather noisy) so did without using windows (but note traffic noise intrudes after 6am). Decent size walk in shower but no thermostatic controls and lighting rather dim. Food selection good (but rather overcooked) and generally attentive service. Unless you are interested in the gambling the casino adds a rather garish appearance with a mix of characters passing through. Convenient location only about 200m from the Italian border but it seems rather like a service station stop being so close to the highway. Good value.

Nice place close to Trieste and Kotor
Located just a few meters over the border into Slovenia this is a nice hotel. Service is excellent, in particular in the restaurant. There is nothing nearby so you have to use your car if you need to go somewhere.

Comfort, value and convenience
If you need a quiet midweek business hotel to work and sleep in en route from Venice/Trieste to Koper, this is ideal! Parking was right outside the entrance. Reception very friendly and helpful. Room a good size and comfortable. Free wi-fi throughout. Excellent food for both dinner and breakfast. Didn't use the casino, but it's there if you like that sort of thing. On the downside, it's on the main road and not the prettiest of locations, but if you're not here for sightseeing, it is really great value.

Scotland v Slovenia
On arrival staff were competent and friendly, room was well furnished and comfortable. We were there for a football game so the hotel at the time was full of Scots, so we did not really meet any other guests other than our own country folk.

Casino Hotel Carnevale - great value for the price
Me and my wife stayed in Casino Hotel Carnevale for two nights (17-19 August 2011) and were very much pleased with the hotel's services and the room. It's worth every star of the four indeed. The room is just great - large, clean, with nice old-styled furniture, big bathroom, nice TV flat panel, Ethernet in the room, non-obtrusive user-controlled air-conditioning, good bed and linens. The hotel features casino and wellnes but we had no opportunity to try it as we used the hotel mostly as a base for our travelling to surrounding areas (we travelled by car). BTW, the hotel has large free parking just in front of the hotel. The hotel is positioned quite well - just about 10km from Triest with its shopping and tourist attractions as well as not far (about 20km) from Slovenian Portoroz and Piran. The staff is very much professional and helpful. We had no problem with getting whatever we needed at all. The breakfast was somewhat simple but quite enough and of good quality/service. We would gladly stay in this hotel again.

The style of the room is baroque and very smart. Bathroom clean and with several accesories. Only the breakfast was not so peculiar and the staff did not ask if we wanted to drink a coffee/cappuccino For the rest super!

Struttura molto accogliente facilmente raggiungibile. Camera spaziosa e ben pulita. Ristorante con ottima cucina. Purtroppo la mancanza di un box doccia chiuso fa sì che si rischi di allagare il bagno ogni volta... In ogni caso se dovessi ripassare da quelle parti non ho dubbi a tornare in questo hotel.

Le personnel était toujours désireux de rendre service, soit pour commander un taxi, soit pour imprimer une réservation... La chambre était moderne et propre. Hôtel calme. Le seul bémol : si vous n'avez pas de véhicule, vous êtes dépendant des taxis. Cela dit, ils ont une équipe de chauffeurs qui peuvent vous conduire ou vous chercher à la station de bus ou de train s'ils sont disponibles (mais seulement à partir de 13h).

No esta en Koper, hay que tener coche. Cerca de Koper y Izola. El hotel es un 4 estrellas justo. Pero ninguna queja , habitacion amplia y comoda.
