"Any outside service that is billed to the room will incur a 17% commission to the hotel as a "service fee". For example, if you ask the concierge to organize a hot air balloon ride for 2 the provider will likely have difficultly processing a direct payment and will bill the hotel -- who will in turn add 17% to the charge just for the convenience. The concierge will also favor the external services if there is a cancellation. None of this is sufficiently explained up front, so you'll be in for a big and irritating surprise when you review your bill at checkout. All-in-all, there are better and more forthright hotel options in Mexico City that the W. "

"There are several minor things that add up to make the stay average at best. 1. the bedroom has a wonderful view and 4 large windows, but none of the blackouts cover 100% of the window, so all the sunlight comes in making the room very bright, even at night because of the streetlights. 2. the sofa looked very nice at a glance, but when I sat down, I realized it was broken, so you sit at an angle. on top of that they placed a cloth to cover it like a decoration, but it's actually hiding all the stains on the sofa. 3. finally, in the morning i was making a cup of coffee and realized all the mugs had either lipstick or coffee stains, meaning they were not properly washed. "

"This hotel has excellent service. My kids got sick. They have a doctor you can call to get service. The nurse came within an hour, set up IVs and medication. The sheets were changed at 3 am. They have 24/7 cleaning service. Very grateful and pleased with all the attention. They have nurses that take your blood pressure on call since Mexico city is in high elevation. The restaurants were very good. I would certainly come back to this hotel. "
