This unit is on the 4th floor and is in a building that does not have an elevator. You will need to climb stairs to access this unit.
Please note that this building was built in 1920 and has limited insulation causing noise to pass easily through the units at times. This can come from neighboring units as well as noise from the street. There is a noise machine in each bedroom as well as earplugs if you are sensitive to noise when you sleep. The roadway next to the building is Maine State Route 102 that has traffic passing through at all hours, speed limit on the road is 30MPH. The amount of noise you may encounter can very depending on the road traffic, and how respectful neighbors are during your stay. If a guest does experience any excessive noise from neighbors they are able to reach out to us and we can help resolve the issue. The entire building observes a quiet time between 10:00PM-8:00AM, which includes running your laundry, as to not disturb the neighbors. -Please note that you must be out of the Unit by 10:15AM the LATEST. You will receive a $150 fee if you are out of the unit later than 10:15AM and will be charged an additional $50 for every 15minute interval that you are late after that. We have had problems with guests leaving late in the past and need to make sure that our cleaning team has enough time to properly clean the unit before the next guests arrive. -This building observes quiet time from 10:00PM-8:00AM and you are not allowed to make excessive noise or run the washer/dryer during those hours because of the noise it makes. This building is over 100+ years old and the walls are thinner than modern walls -No pets are allowed in the unit. You will be charged a $400 Pet Fee if you are caught with a pet in the unit -No parties or events are allowed in the unit. You will immediately be kicked out of the unit if you hold an event at the unit and will be charged a $1,000 fee

We had a great stay in SouthWest Harbor at Driftwood. While our friends' boat was parked at the nearby Dystart marina, this was the perfect spot to feel comfortable and at home while exploring Acadia.
This condo was absolutely perfect! It was in a great location. We were able to walk across the street for dinner and the shops along the main strip were all within walking distance, We went to see the fall color and they were spectacular. This condo was close to all of the places we wanted to visit. I highly recommend this place!
We stayed 4 nights at SW Harbor - everything is as good as it looks in the photos. Very spacious, clean, comfy decor and great view. It was a short drive to Acadia Nat'l Park each day. Absolutely no complaints!

Loved the place. It was super clean which is huge for me. Nice furnishings. Really, really spacious too. Would stay here again. The only issue we had which was no fault of the property owner/management, was that extremely loud people were above us partying till 4 am. Otherwise, it was a really great place to stay! Great location too. :)
The reviews and description we read were accurate. The property seemed larger once we checked in. It was clean and spacious. Reviews and the description said there was road noise off the street/bedrooms which there was. We used fans and ear plugs provided. All in all a great stay.

We enjoyed our stay. The unit had nice water views. The kitchen was well stocked. The beds were comfortable and they have a washing machine.
We had to hang out at the unit for most of one day while dealing with a dead rental car…the unit was comfortable and inviting for a day of puzzles and movie watching.

If you are a light sleeper, go for the top unit. Even when trying to be quiet, the building transmits sounds.
The location of this updated condo in an older home in Southwest Harbor is perfect to avoid the crowds of Bar Harbor during peak season. We enjoyed hiking and rock climbing in Acadia Nat'l Park, and kayaking on the northeast side of MDI, seeing seals, porpoises, bald eagles, and loons in the process. The condo offered comfortable beds, showers with great water pressures, and many basic supplies provided. We were not bothered by any road noise because we had the A/C units muffling that while we slept (warm week on MDI but cool in the bedrooms). Thank you for sharing these lovely accommodations!
My husband and I visited for a long weekend in June. The check in process and communication from the owner was all very easy and great. Place was clean and the view was beautiful. As the listing states, it's pretty loud! The road is right off the bedroom windows and you can definitely hear traffic. We are deep sleepers so we were okay. Additionally, since the building is so old you can definitely hear residents upstairs and downstairs fairly well. Close to a few good restaurants and breakfast places but very small town. We had a nice visit!
Lovely location and well kept property. Southwest Harbor has a more local flavor rather versus the crowds (and lack of parking) in Bar Harbor. Staring the day with breakfast on the balcony, over looking the bay, was very relaxing.

This place was perfect for our family of 4. It was easy to get around…most days we drove our rental car but one day we did utilize the bus! We stopped at the cute bar across the street on our last night and wished we had stopped sooner!
