"The hotel itself was lovely and felt opulent and quite grand - until you got into the rooms. We paid quite a lot of money for what was described as a Superior Double and were told we had been upgraded to a honeymoon suite as it was my wife's birthday. Sadly the first room was awful with paint coming off the walls and no bulbs in the ceiling (the wires were actually hanging down and exposed). We complained and were offered the room next door, which was bigger and seemed better, but we soon realised the furnishings were very poor quality and way past their best. The bathroom was superb but was completely out of sync with the rest of the room. The balcony was out of bounds too as it was unsafe! This was a big room but was most definitely not of a standard that merits the title of honeymoon suite."

"Room was well presented but the rest of the hotel was run down and breakfast was definitely not worth the additional £11 per person. Very poor. Undercooked egg and sausage with excuse only one chef. It took ages to be served and the hotel had two coach loads of OAP’s. "

"Absolutely fantastic half term family holiday! We returned to The Esplanade Hotel again and wow it's still so wonderful, perched on the golden sands of Fistral, the beach certainly is your playground! From the moment we arrived to when we sadly had to leave everything was perfect - spotlessly clean throughout, great swimming pool, delicious food to include a highly recommended afternoon tea, wonderfully furnished bedrooms with beautiful sea views and the highlight being outstanding service from each and every member of staff! Every aspect of this hotel is geared up for the family with great children's entertainment every day. The manager Claudia certainly knows how to run a hotel with her brilliant team, thank you! Her attention to detail is marvellous, it's the little touches! We will be back, again!"

"A beautiful house in a quiet location with a perfect, secure garden ideal for dogs. The communication from Lisa, the house keeper, was brilliant. The village has 2 pubs within a short walking distance and the beach is 10 minutes walk away. Crantock is a lovely place in the summer but the quietness in the winter months and the great effort that is put into the village Christmas lights makes this a perfect spot for a winter break too."
