Sola is centrally situated just outside Stavanger. The city's international airport is in close proximity and access to the surrounding world is easy and accessible.
Large parts of Sola are linked to the cityscape of Stavanger and you will find the best of both worlds here. A holiday to Sola might have you arriving by plane, train, boat or bus and there are many links to the outside world: From Tjora, immediately to the north of the airport, you can catch the ferry to Denmark. The closest train station is Sandnes, and Sola is also linked to the bus network in Stavanger.

Wander around Vågen Bay, have a bite to eat or drink at one of the many eateries in the city – you will find everything from traditional local food to exciting, first-class international cuisine. When visiting the city, take a look at the colourful homes and charming cafeterias on Øvre Holmegate.
If you prefer to stay closer to the hotel, there will be plenty of activities to choose from during both summer and winter. In summer, Sola can offer a number of lovely sandy beaches and you are sure to find a quiet spot. The large Solastranden beach is situated next to the airport but is surprisingly quiet and idyllic. A little further north, in Tananger, you will find Myklebust Sjøbad pool, offering a slightly higher level of activity.
Another popular activity with holidaymakers in Sola is golf. Solastranden Golf Club has the country's only golf course that is open all year round, and attracts avid golfers from all over the world.
If you would rather do something indoors, the Aviation History Museum at Sola has a number of interesting aircraft to look at, as well as the option of booking the flight simulator where you can try your hand at being a pilot. Great fun for all the family!
