Cheap room in a superb location. Set your expectations low, then go lower. If you need a place to crash - perfect. Toilets seat strapped with cable ties and graffiti on the bedroom wall. However, for at least two days one of the hallways that also serves as an emergency exit was blocked by a large trolley and different building materials that were stored on the floor. A review in German on another website said there were bed bugs here at some point, and though my inspection didn’t reveal any, the grime under the bed and general condition and smell of the property did not provide any reassurance. Simple maintenance things like properly functioning faucet valves, paint touch ups and more thorough cleaning would help. Reference was made to the Broremann Bar but it only opened from 6pm. At least there was a phone number on the door and the staff was on site quickly after a call. When booking through Expedia, it said "free breakfast". This was only negated when the hotel sent an email. The hotel WiFi was almost unusable. A TV was available, but no remote control. About the lack of possibility of using the TV was also only pointed out after the booking was made. If you want to sleep late, you should use hearing protection, as the location on the harbor and above the bar is definitely associated with business and street noise. Lots of hair in the shower from the previous tenant. Fungal infestation on the bathroom walls and on the shower curtain. Bad air in hallway, bathroom. Overall pretty worn facility. There is a TV in the room but it does not work. Why is it there? There was someone’s garbage (tampon and q tips) left in the toilet bin when we checked in. The place was not cleaned thoroughly. The showerhead was messed up, it just spewed water at you. Again, no wifi in the rooms. In one of the hallways it smelled like sewage. The building is pretty decrepit itself from the outside and needs to be torn down. Not suitable for a even a hostel. Nobody at the bar when check in supposedly is, at 5pm. I had to go to a neighbouring hotel and ask to call the hostel as I did not have cell service for someone to come to the next door bar where check in is supposed to be. There is no reception except the bar next door that doubled as reception but they do not seem to know much about the hotel or the surrounding area. The toilet flusher button was a nail in the wall that you had to push to flush, there was no button. If you need anything extra you have to call a specific phone number and as I did not have cell service this meant that I could not request anything. Like I said, this place needs to be torn down as it is not suitable for even a hostel. The photo of the hostel on the website is not the building that the rooms are in. The rooms are in the white building adjacent, with the paint coming off, next to the Victoria hotel. Do not be fooled by the false advertisement. Badet var svært dårlig med mugg i enkelte plasser. Funker helt greit for 1-2 netter og om man skal være meste parten ute. Mye lyd om natten fordi hotellet hadde 2 bar områder. Om man är känslig för ljud så hörs nattklubben lite. Vi stannade fredag och lördag natt. Sengen var godt og dejligt med nye håndklæder ##### Henriette Stayed 4 nights in Sep 2023 ### 2/10 Terrible #### Katherine 6 Sept 2023 Disliked: Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities, property conditions & facilities Das übelste an Unterkunft was ich je erlebt hab: eingecheckt wird in einer Bar, was soweit ganz gut war, weil ich um 23:00 ankam. Danach ging es durch die Bar einen dunklen Flur einen engen Treppenaufgang hoch, man musste hier sehr aufpassen wo man entlang geht. Der Flur roch schon sehr modrig. Das Zimmer an sich war unterirdisch. Ich hab das Licht gesucht, welches nur teilweise funktionierte und dabei mit der Taschenlampe versehentlich unter das Bett geleuchtet, wegen der Steckdose - Fehler…. Staub und Dreck ohne Punkt und Komma. Die Steckdosen an der Wand alle schwarz. Das Fenster lies sich zwar öffnen war aber so defekt, dass es sich nicht mehr schließen lies. Es blieb drei Tage und Nächte einfach auf. Direkt vor dem Fenster scheint eine Bushaltestelle zu sein und Motorräder drehen hier auf. Die Musik der Bar darunter ist Ohrenbetäubend auch die Musik der Bars daneben bleibt einem nicht erspart. Nachts wurden ebenfalls irgendwelche Flaschencontainer geleert. Es waren drei sehr schlaflose Nächte gewesen. Und nun die Krönung das Bad: Schimmelparadies und zwar nicht nur etwas in den Fugen sondern auch der Duschvorhang war regelrecht mit Schimmel überseht. Das Wasser kam nur spärlich und das Bad auch nicht so wirklich sauber geputzt. Es roch alles sehr modrig. Nie wieder! Das einzig Gute an diesem Hostel war leider die Lage. Das Zimmer mit 2 Betten war sehr karg und ungemütlich eingerichtet. Die Betten waren sehr schmal, der TV funktionierte nicht. Das Bad hatte weder einen Duschvorhang noch warmes Wasser. Man hat sich total unwohl gefühlt. Aus diesem Grund haben wir uns etwas Neues gesucht. Leider hatten wir 2 Nächte für umsonst bezahlt.
