I was concerned going into this property w this host for we talked beforehand and being a new home for her so I cleaned continuously in my 3 day stay. Host contacted me on my drive home that the cleaning crew found a broken clip in the frig and wanted an explanation. Informed we weren’t aware when we cleaned it out but the doors had been very firm to operate but thought it was just the fancy refrigerator. She continued to text and call for many days then an invoice for the 25 dollar broken part that needs another 150 dollar part and a 309 invoice. After watching videos on these doors they can need balanced and lead to damage. I explained that to the host and offered to split the invoice cost w her. Her reply was that I did not report the frig doors were tight so it’s my responsibility and sent me a copy of the contract and kept my 300 deposit. So any enjoyment I did receive out of a very very expensive 3 day stay was ended quickly before I got 2 hours into the long drive home. I told her that she has to live with her decisions. I would never be so petty to complain about a tight door or all the weeds I pulled around her property, the freezer that melted our ice cream etc. I have gratitude for being away from home.
