It was cold, as we expected it to be, but between layering up and the 4 separate plug in room heaters provided by the host, it was the right kind of cold winter cozy. Kitchen well stocked. We cooked a lot. Nearby state and county parks were wonderful for long family walks and explorations. And you can run from the house directly into point lookout state park. Loved it. Would absolutely try it again and see what the marsh is like other times of the year. Everyone we met was very helpful and kind. Smith Island is a paddler's/adventurer’s paradise. And, if after a long day of exploring you want a comfortable bed, internet, and all the comforts of home this is the spot.
