"Enjoyed the atmosphere of the old manor. Wife and I enjoyed walking the grounds, eating great food for dinner and breakfast and not having any electronic distractions in the room (they have hi-speed wifi if you just need to get online). Staff and service was fantastic as were the views. The dinner was prepared with many ingredients grown right on the property."

Check in is different from an American chain so plan ahead to be in hotel restaurant by 20:00, or make easy arrangements. The room was so quaint and beautiful. Breakfast was so traditional. I loved it. I've missed Kalmar and it was good to make a visit back and stay at this lovely place. "

"I am frequent guest at the hotel and always enjoy my stay! The newly renovated room was too warm for sleeping, unfortunately, and the thermostat (in the bathroom only) did not allow for enough cooling. Letting you know in case this is an issue for other guests in the new rooms as well. Otherwise, all was perfect! "

"We really enjoyed our stay at the BauerGarden. The cabin we had was very nice, with two rooms for for of us. Everything worked well in the unit. We made a nice dinner in the little kitchen with our unit. There is a small grocery store about 5km away with a nice selection of things to cook. Eating on our porch was very nice. "The staff did not care to assist me in any way. My sofa bed was not made up. They asked me to open it myself, telling me the linens, pillows and the towels are all already inside. When I asked if the sheets and everything was new or has been sitting around inside the bed for a while , the answer I was given was “ I think so, I don’t know”. I asked if housekeeping can come to take care of this and was told they don’t do that. I wouldn’t trust the cleanliness of these sheets or pillows. When...

"Stayed overnight on a roadtrip. Late check-in (after midnight), no problem. Bed was very comfortable, room was big enough for all four (kids got a cute bunk bed) and very clean. Next day breakfast buffet was good with excellent bacon and eggs. Considering the price of the stay all of this was way above my expectations, would definitely overnight there again on future trips."
