The newly renovated room was too warm for sleeping, unfortunately, and the thermostat (in the bathroom only) did not allow for enough cooling. Letting you know in case this is an issue for other guests in the new rooms as well. Otherwise, all was perfect! "

Check in is different from an American chain so plan ahead to be in hotel restaurant by 20:00, or make easy arrangements. The room was so quaint and beautiful. Breakfast was so traditional. "The staff did not care to assist me in any way. My sofa bed was not made up. They asked me to open it myself, telling me the linens, pillows and the towels are all already inside. When I asked if the sheets and everything was new or has been sitting around inside the bed for a while , the answer I was given was “ I think so, I don’t know”. I asked if housekeeping can come to take care of this and was told they don’t do that. I wouldn’t trust the cleanliness of these sheets or pillows. When...

"Wonderful hotel in a great location just down the street from Kalmar Castle and the train station. Shops and restaurants within a five minute walk. Room was clean, comfortable, cozy, and nicely appointed. Warm breakfast was served in the hotel restaurant. The hotel staff was absolutely amazing, very friendly and hospitable. I can’t emphasize enough how welcoming the staff was. I will definitely be staying at Slottshottelet next time I visit Kalmar. It truly felt like a home away from home."
