If your looking for an authentic Sri Lankan homestay experience, this is it. Sigiriya is a beautiful little town and Lion Rock is a must do. Get up early to beat the crowds and heat. It opens at 7am. We hired a scooter but Charu the father will drive you if needed. The family are absolutely loving,kind and generous. Make sure you have dinner with them. One of the best meals I've had in Sri Lanka. Breakfast was served on the balcony every morning at our preferred time, and was undoubtedly the best breakfast I’ve had in any hotel around the world. I had informed them in advance that I was coming to celebrate my birthday, so the entire family went all out to decorate the room, wished me happy birthday upon arrival and even baked a huge, delicious cake for me. This place will always be the most memorable stay of my life, and was better than any luxury Hotel I’ve ever stayed in. It’s basic and simple, and yet serene and ever so beautiful.
