Holy Mary of Sorrows carried by the members of the Hermandad de Nuestro Padre Jesús de las Tres Caídas y María Santísima de la Amargura, during a Holy Week night procession through the streets of Arcos de la Frontera (Andalusia, Spain).
The artificial lake and Grazalema natural park as seen from the mirador at Zahara de la Sierra.
Arcos sits dramatically perched atop a defensible limestone ridge. Makes since, given that it came to prominence as a frontier town for the Moors in the 12th century. The old town is a charming mix of whitewashed houses and stone walls set amid a labyrinth of narrow, cobbled streets. Stay a night or two at a small hotel in the old town and spend the day wandering about.
Saint Peter watching over his flock. The 18th-century facade is a Baroque design plastered onto a 14th-century church, that itself was built atop the remains of an Arab fortress.
