After the water problem was solved, the only lift in the hotel was out of order and my parents who are in their late 70's had to walked up 4 flight of stairs after a long day exploring the temples. One of the air-con on the main lobby was also out of order - hot lobby. At one point the wifi stopped working for 30 mins. The breakfast variety was very poor, mainly un-appealing Asian stir-fries. The location is perfect, the room was perfect, what can I say.....this is one of my favourite hotels I have ever stayed at! Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. The hotel is clean and very comfortable and close to both down town and landmarks like the royal palace. Very easy to walk to most places from this hotel. Rooms are roomy with some nice features but lighting is horrible throughout the hotel. You can't see to shave in the bathroom and the lobby lighting, even at night is appalling. Food for breakfast looked left over for the most part and western options were almost non-existent. Staff was fine. The real kicker is that we saw a rat run into the lobby from outside as we were leaving and the staff thought it was amusing that we were startled. We saw another rat run across the floor of the dining room. The staff could not have been nicer and helped arrange trips to the sites. Breakfast buffet was large and fresh. The location was perfect and the room was still quiet although close to everything. It even had 5-star extras like safe, slippers, bathrobe and fridge. Two in our group had stayed there a year and a half ago. Rooms were excellent, service was impeccable, and the hotel staff went out of their way to make our visit great. They even made us breakfast to go for our early flight. On the last two nights we may have been the only group in the hotel. It was super quiet and peaceful. The first night there was a very large 3 bus tour group of Chinese. It was kind of loud and packed that morning, but that would be expected with any group that large. The location is excellent just a hop skip and jump away from downtown and Pub Street.
