Having stayed in several ryokans, this ryokan is average. Service was good and facilities were decent with an interesting Pearl Onsen. However, the kaiseki dinner was a bit disappointing. Paid extra for the Matsusaka beef menu but the dinner was average and not worth the money paid. It is pretty remote, but there is an hourly shuttle bus to and from Kashikojima train station if you want to do anything off property. The food is pretty pricey and there is a cost for most activities. The onsen is beautiful.
