"We stayed at New Forest Lodge for a weekend trip to Paultons Park.
Overall I'd say our trip was okay. There were definite areas of improvement and I wouldn't suggest booking if you're looking for luxury. That being said, the room was mostly comfortable and we had everything we needed.
When you arrive, if you're situated in a room upstairs, I could see the carpet was very worn. It wasn't the best impression. The decor is quite dated and the TV is pretty small.
The king bed was comfortable. The singles however were put up beds and were uneven and not terribly comfortable.
There was carpet worn away at the bathroom threshold to the point the grippers were exposed which presents a hazard, expecially for young children. The radiator in the bathroom was also damaged and didnt look overly reassuring of its safety.
The check in was using a keysafe as the reception wasnt manned. I did see some staff briefly both mornings of our stay. Its a shame they dont have more of a presence.
The lodge met our needs for the purpose we booked it for, I just feel it would be much improved with some investment into refurbishment.
