About this property

Douglas Lake Log Cabin | Game Room, Big Yard, Sleeps 6

  • Chapel Cove is a 2-bedroom log cabin in the Douglas Lake area of Sevierville, Tennessee, a short drive from public boat ramps and marinas. It suits a fishing trip, a boating week, or a quiet getaway with room to spread out.

SLEEPING - UP TO 6 GUESTS
    - Main level: king bed, ensuite full bathroom with tub/shower combo, 40-inch smart TV
    - Upstairs: queen bed and a sleeper sofa, plus a half bath. Stairs required
    - One full bathroom and one half bathroom

    THE GAME ROOM
A dedicated room with a pool table, air hockey, foosball and an arcade machine. It is the reason
groups with kids and teenagers rebook - the evenings take care of themselves.

    LIVING AND KITCHEN
Open living, dining and kitchen with vaulted log ceilings, an electric fireplace, a 43-inch smart TV
and windows across the back of the cabin. The kitchen is fully equipped - full-size refrigerator and
freezer, stove, oven, microwave, dishwasher, coffee maker, toaster, blender and proper cookware - so
cooking in is realistic rather than theoretical. Washer and dryer in the unit.

    OUTSIDE
A large grassy yard, a covered porch with rocking chairs, a separate open deck, a fire pit and a
charcoal grill. When Douglas Lake sits at higher levels you can see two channels from the property.

    THE SETTING
Rural Sevier County, off Channel View Drive - open sky, rolling fields and lake channels cut through
the landscape. Quiet enough at night to hear nothing. Douglas Lake is a well-known bass and crappie
fishery, and it is the reason most guests choose this cabin over one closer to the attractions.

    THE PRACTICAL DETAILS
    - Central air conditioning and heat
    - Wi-Fi throughout, with a dedicated workspace
    - Washer and dryer in the unit
    - Linens, towels and basic toiletries provided
    - Self check-in via smart lock; check-in from 4 PM, check-out 10 AM
    - Free on-site parking
    - Maximum 6 guests; primary renter must be 21 or older
    - No pets, no smoking, no events

    DRIVE TIMES
    - Public boat ramps and marinas on Douglas Lake: a short drive
    - Pigeon Forge parkway and downtown Sevierville: roughly 20 to 35 minutes depending on traffic
    - Great Smoky Mountains National Park entrance: about an hour
    - Knoxville airport (TYS): about 45 minutes

A car is necessary. Rideshare service is unreliable in this part of the county.

    WORTH KNOWING BEFORE YOU BOOK
The cabin is in the lake area, not on the water - there is no dock, no shoreline and no lake access
from the property, and the channel views are seasonal and shift with water levels. There is no hot
tub and no pool. The second bedroom and half bath are up a flight of stairs. One exterior camera
covers the front door for arrivals and departures; there are no cameras inside or in the private
outdoor spaces. We would rather you know all of that now than discover it on arrival. Please follow all local burn bans when active.

Your stay includes $940.00 in complimentary activities. Just by booking with us, you’ll receive free tickets, every day of your stay to top activities like Dollywood, Ober Gatlinburg Aerial Tramway, and more. (One free admission per activity, per day)

**Magnolia Vacation Rentals is not liable for any disruptions, damages, or cancellations caused by acts of God or weather-related events. In accordance with health and safety regulations, all hot tubs are drained, sanitized, and refilled between guest stays. As a result, the hot tub may require additional time to reach optimal temperature and may not be fully heated the first night of your stay. All guests are required to review and sign a renter’s agreement prior to check-in. We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance to protect your reservation against unexpected changes or emergencies.**

This cabin was absolutely beautiful and was basically right on the water, which you couldn’t fully tell from the photos, so that was a huge plus! The hosts were also wonderful with communication and very responsive throughout our stay. One thing to note is that the property was managed by a rental company, so we unexpectedly had to sign some additional paperwork outside of the VRBO app, which we weren’t aware of beforehand.Unfortunately, the biggest downside for us was the cleanliness, which fell a little short of our expectations. There was quite a bit of dust throughout the cabin, some laundry from a previous guest was left in the washer, and the bathrooms could have used a more thorough cleaning. There was also a noticeable spot on the bathroom wall near the toilet that appeared to have been missed during cleaning. That said, the cabin worked well for our trip since we were out exploring most of the time and mainly used it as a place to sleep. They also offered vouchers for local activities, which was a nice touch, although we unfortunately didn’t have enough time to use them.Overall, we really loved the location, the cabin itself, and the communication from the hosts. With a more thorough cleaning, this would have been a fantastic stay!

We would definitely stay here again. Loved how cozy the cabin felt and loved the location (there were neighbors but not too close) The host was awesome and didn’t have to wait very long for a response. We enjoyed our stay.

Overall property was as advertised. It is a bit of a curvy road to get to, but that is to be expected for the area. Would stay again
