Find Beach Resorts in Serra da Estrela

Fantastic house, loads of history. Beautiful surroundings, lovely friendly hosts.

We had a little difficulty on arrival because there was a no entry sign across the road leading to the village and we went past it. We eventually found our way and had to swerve round the barrier. Had we been told about this, we would have found the village more easily. The once abandoned hilltop village has been sensitively restored and is now mainly reliant on tourism. The Hotel was stunning and in a wonderful setting. The morning mist was breathtaking. it was very tastefully furnished throughout and rooms were big and comfortable. It had a quiet calm atmosphere - one of the nicest hotels I have stayed in and well recommended. Such a beautiful building. All the light fittings were unique a wonderful stay.

Absolutely beautiful hotel - room was very impressive - large, clean and very comfortable. Pool was fantastic as were the staff. Highly recommended.

Safe off-road parking too which was a plus. Previous reviewers complained about the road up to the hotel (absolutely fine - just a normal road) and the wi-fi (worked perfectly plus good 4G signal). We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay at the Palacio da Lousa. Our room was big and spacious , the breakfast was comprehensive and catered for all tastes, there is good free parking at the back of the hotel and we had an excellent evening meal one night.

Great host and a very nice place. I strongly recommend it!

What a stunning place! Sandrine greeted us when we arrived and showed us around. The ensuite room was small but perfectly appointed for our stay. There was a lovely lounge with comfy sofas amd a TV. The outside space was beautiful, with ample seating for ourselves and other guests. We didn't take a dip in the pool but it looked so inviting. We will definitely be booking again for a longer stay just so we can try out the pool!! Oh and I can't not mention breakfast, fresh eggs, fresh pastries and...
