Really amazing property with a great vibe. Location is absolutely perfect. But the communication and service from the team was the thing that made things really easy, expecially when checking in and out. Things were really thought out in the apartment including amenities and facilities. I would make clear its got 2 bathrooms as this was reservation before booking as I thought it was just one for a large group, but in fact it was 2, which was great. Only slight nuance was a few loose peices of the wood flooring in the kitchen which did cause some issues when walking and a hazard. Otherwise would reccomend!!

Room was quiet and comfortable with good amenities. Washcloths are provided, which is unusual for Europe. Hot water in the shower was good enough at the maximum setting, but could have been a little hotter. Breakfast was excellent with a good selection of items. Mobility-impaired people should be aware that the walk from the nearby Metro station is short but fairly steep.

Portugal’s Centro region is located in the heart of the country with a vast coastline and diverse interior. Don’t make the mistake of passing this region by in favor of the north and the south, as Centro offers astounding views and incredible history. Visit one of Portugal’s most prestigious universities, watch surfers riding the grand swells off the coast and wander cobblestone streets past brightly painted houses. 

Stop by the old town of Coimbra, which used to be the capital of Portugal. Walk along the banks of the river, or visit the Monastery of Santa Cruz where you can find the tomb of Portugal’s first king. Coimbra is perhaps most famous for being home to Portugal’s oldest university, the University of Coimbra.

Centro’s coastlines also offer plenty of activities. Take the whole family to the calm waters of the Obidos Lagoon, spend time in the casino at Figueira da Foz or enjoy traditional seafood with rice at Praia de Vieira de Leiria. In the south of the region, Nazare is known for incredible waves and perfect surfing conditions.

In the north of the region, visit the town of Aveiro which boasts a sparkling lagoon and traditional boats that take tourists around the canals. For more natural scenery, head to Viseu and Guarda for enchanting castles and stunning views over the area.

Adventure sports are popular in the mountains and rivers. Canoe down the Mondego River just 30 minutes from Coimbra, or conquer the trails of the Serra da Estrela mountain range. In fact, Serra da Estrela is home to Portugal’s only ski resort for winter travellers hoping for some fun on the slopes.

The easiest way to travel around Centro is to rent a car from a major city and then plan your own route. Within the towns and cities, buses are the most popular choice for public transportation. Buy tickets ahead of time, as waiting until you’re on board is often more expensive.
