We had a wonderful experience from start to finish. The space was extremely comfortable, making it easy to relax and unwind. The setting was peaceful and quiet, yet there was no shortage of things to do. What truly made the stay exceptional was the host’s graciousness and hospitality. Bill and Karen were warm, attentive, and genuinely committed to making sure we had everything we needed. I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable, quiet retreat with plenty of activities and an outstanding host.
We wanted to get away from the city and into nature and boy did we! Words can’t describe how much fun we had exploring the 200 acres of forest! Lakes, ponds, paths, and sooooo many deer! Our son woke up early every morning to feed the deer - when we left, he knew their names….the owners were beyond accommodating!
Beautiful property with amazing hosts.
One of the best stays we have ever had.
Cabin was clean and well appointed. Grounds were amazing.
Fantastic getaway.
We will go again for sure.
The cabin was beautiful. The location was close to where we needed to go for our nieces wedding.. the host was exceptional and welcoming. Nice hiking trails, deer farm, and pond for kayaking. Perfect location to unplug and reconnect with family.
Our family group of five loved our week at Sunhillow Farm! The log cabin was so cute and comfortable, well equipped, and nestled in a beautiful setting, surrounded by a blueberry orchard and deer farm. Our hosts Bill and Karen were so friendly and helpful and surprised us with a number of nice treats. We had a wonderful time and can highly recommend Sunhillow Farm.
This was an amazing trip! And we can not wait to go back! My young children had a blast just as much as us adults. Can’t wait to go back this summer and swim!
Only down fall MOSQUITOS so bring bug spray
If you’re looking for a place where you can stay on property the entire time and not see another person the entire stay, OR a place to fill your stay with all the activities you can fit in, this fits the bill. This cabin is our favorite getaway spot and this was our fifth time here. Bill and Karen are the best hosts, and communication with them is so easy. We always come away from our stay relaxed and recharged, and are already ready to come back!
Awesome-Amazing place for family get away. The best ever!
Our family had an excellent time! The grands loved the deer, having the golf cart to get around the beautiful property, picking blueberries, going on a boat ride and swimming in the canal. Peaceful, relaxing, and overall, a great place to unwind. Of course, Freddie the rooster was the best!
Meeting and visiting with Bill and Karen was great. Wonderful hosts - almost family. Thank you for the wonderful experience and sharing your little piece of heaven on earth!
We enjoyed our long weekend trip! Great place to stop the world for a few days. It was peaceful watching deer while drinking coffee and relaxing outside. We hiked the trails, and used the canoes and kayaks in the late afternoon. Bill & Karen are very responsive to their guests. We are already discussing a return trip.
Location was about 30 min from most places BUT it is so amazing! The quiet and distance allowed us to see so much wildlife that would never have been seen otherwise. We had an owl visit almost every evening. The property had plenty of space for kids to run and play.
The host were so welcoming and gracious! Karen came and walked us into the deer area and feed them “cookies”. She also answered all of our questions.
I booked the Log Cabin for our family of 5 (my husband and our 3 teens [18, 16 & 16]) to celebrate our daughter’s high school graduation. It was even better than advertised and we loved our time there!! We spent 1/2 of a Saturday on the pontoon boat, then fed the deer, picked blueberries, explored the property and made good use of the golf cart. Bill was helpful & attentive. The cabin is well appointed and Acura is. Bring extra toilet paper! Can’t wait to book again
We came to celebrate our son's birthday, and everything about our stay was exceptional! We could not have felt more at home and comfortable in the cabin! Our family of 5 always had something to do while on the property, from feeding the deer (personal favorite), to fishing the ponds, walking the trails, catching frogs and lizards, basketball games and an epic cornhole tournament! We had a nice little thunderstorm during our stay that made for great sleeping in the cabin, and the huge covered patio was great for grilling and enjoying the storm. The sunset cruise in the pontoon boat was the nicest, most relaxing trip down the Pearl River, and the perfect way to end our last day in Louisiana. The owners, Bill and Karen, were the absolute best! We thoroughly enjoyed our time spent with them, and the knowledge they both shared. We will definitely be back, and during blueberry season next time!
What a wonderful experience! I wanted to give my grandkids, ages 15 and 12, a little get away before starting school. They had an absolute blast, feeding the deer, playing cornhole, basketball, swimming in the beautiful lake and exploring the area. My husband, who is physically challenged was perfectly comfortable. The lift reclining chair was perfect for him. Owners/Hosts Bill and Karen made us feel like family. It was an experience filled with excitement, love and connection. This place is a hidden gem and we will definitely be back next summer. My granddaughter insists on it!!! Thank you so much Bill and Karen for your hospitality!
This was our fourth time to stay at the farm, and, as always, it was wonderful. The cabin is spotless, the grounds are beautiful, and Bill and Karen are such amazing hosts. They truly made this year’s trip the best we’ve had down here. You can be as involved on the property as you want. Feeding the deer with the provided corn, riding the property with the available-to-rent golf cart, and canoeing or kayaking on the canal are all options you can enjoy. When you’re ready to go out, Abita Springs is a fun, quaint little town about 20 minutes away, where you can get food and drinks at Abita Brew Pub, or an amazing breakfast at Abita Springs Café (it truly is one of the best breakfasts I’ve ever had). Covington is the “big city” 30 minutes away, with more restaurants (including a Café du Monde) and grocery stores. If you are looking for a relaxing getaway with the friendliest hosts you’ve ever met, you need to come to the farm!
Nice, quiet setting with beautiful deer. My kids enjoyed swimming in the private lake and getting to feed the deer. My husband enjoyed picking blueberries.
