Beautiful place at the foot of Mt. Etna
We had a great stay. Claudio and his wife were gracious and helpful. On our first night Claudio quickly got us a reservation at a lovely restaurant not far from the house. The house was perfect for us. The bedrooms are beautifully furnished and very comfortable for our family of 3. The kitchen is very well equipped. The outdoor living areas were more than anything we could have asked for. Wonderful place!! Thank you so much Claudio.

Gorgeous Villa with wonderful hosts
Location is perfect if you want to be away from the hubbub, so you will need a car. Villa was gorgeous, with great views (came with a resident outdoor cat). The two double rooms and kitchen have their own entrance which all open out to the courtyard (ie they are separate dwellings whereby you need to walk through the outside courtyard to get to each). Dwelling 1 has a double bedroom with en-suite, dwelling 2 has a double bedroom with separate bathroom and a front room with sofa, small table with two chairs and TV. Kitchen has seating for two. Definitely recommend this villa.

Charming Rustic Property
A converted 19th century winery located in a grove of citrus fruit trees made for a relaxing and enjoyable respite during our 3 week Sicily vacation. It was so nice to have peace and quiet after spending days in busy city centers in Palermo and Erice. Great hosts were available when needed but allowed us to have plenty of private family time with our adult daughter. Found some great local restaurants and enjoyed light meals in the kitchen - another nice break from hotel and restaurant food. The local towns nearby were nothing special but the property was close to Catania and Taormina for day trips. A car is required and off street parking is provided.

Beautiful property - great hosts
We had a great time at Etna Independence. Hard to fault except for an issue that is beyond the hosts control and honestly coloured our whole impression of Sicily - there is a terrible problem with litter all over the island and it is a disaster for the tourist industry there Nevertheless if you want a lovely place to stay that puts you in easy reach of Etna and the coast near to Catania then I cannot fault Etna Independence. Hi Steve, thanks for the nice review. We are working with the authorities to solve the problem of waste on the streets, but it is not easy. few ignorant people destroy the image of a beautiful island and a spectacular territory, rich in history and populated by many civilized and welcoming people. A comfortable and stylish annex to a characterful old family home on the lower slopes of Mt Etna.
We had a five day stay here, and it was perfect. The characterful family home sits on the lower slopes of Mt Etna and has a well develped annex for guests. The hosts were warm and committed to making our stay highly enjoyable. We were able to visit Taomina, Mt Etna, a fabulous local winery for lunch, and another quality restaurant in a nearby village. We could also just relax in own section of the extensive garden or on the terrace with views overlooking the sea. The property has easy access to the motorway in the section between between Taormina and Catania.

Etna Dependance Offers a Wonderful Space, Situation and Hosts
Four of us recently stayed for a week at Etna Dependance with our hosts, Claudio and Antonella. From beginning to end, this placed charmed us. It is perfectly located to visit Siracusa, Etna and its mountain villages, the beaches and Taormina. It was a comforting and warm place to return to, and you could easily spend several days on the sunny terrace drinking coffee and reading...along with a lovely glass of Sicilian wine at night. Claudio and Antonella are genuine and friendly and offer both charm and warmth. We will return and recommend this place to any traveler who wishes to experience Sicily.

Etna Dependence is a truly relaxing place.
The four of us had a fabulous stay at Claudio and Antonella's home. The accommodation was perfect for two couples and the location although in a rural area it was walking distance to the local village which has a bar, supermarket, bakery. The property has views of the Ionian Sea and also Mt Etna. Taormina, Riposta, Mt Etna, Syracuse are easy day trips but we also really enjoyed spending time at the property, sitting under the citrus trees or upstairs on the terrace taking in the view! Our hosts were very friendly and helpful and interesting to talk to. Thank you Claudio and Antonella for making our stay a great experience.

Wonderful location in Sicily.
Claudio and Antoinella were wonderful hosts for our stay in Sicily. The house was perfectly located for doing day trips from Taormina to Siracusa. So many wonderful sites to see but coming home at the end of day and relaxing on the terrace with the sea breeze cooling you was the best. The rooms were separate apts giving you privacy but you had an efficient kitchen to share. Definitely recommend staying here.

Claudio is a great host for this beautiful property lovingly restored. Claudio is very welcoming & happy to advise on local attractions. Perfect for 2 couples with our own ensuite bedrooms & shared kitchen space with everything you need for a mini break. Wonderful!
We stayed at Etna Dependence in October 2016 - what a wonderful place! Claudio and Antonella were excellent hosts, they made us feel so welcome. The accommodation was amazing, it suited 2 couples perfectly. We had everything we needed with 2 beautiful bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, a sitting room and a well equipped kitchen, in particular the coffee was top class! We really enjoyed having breakfast on the terrace which had everything we could have hoped for, including a beautiful view of both the sea and Mount Etna. The accommodation was in a very good location, close to the A18 and a 15 minute drive to Taormina. We also visited Syracusa, Ortigia and Savocca. Thank you so much Claudio and Antonella for your hospitality!

Wunderschöne Unterkunft
Wir waren drei Nächte in dieser wunderschönen Unterkunft mit atemberaubendem Ausblick auf das Meer und den Ätna. Die Gastgeber waren sehr freundlich und der Check In problemlos. Es liegt im Grünen zwischen Orangenbäumen und einem liebevoll gestaltetem Garten. Die Küche ist in einer alten Höhle und sehr modern eingerichtet, so wie die gesamte Unterkunft. Es gibt auch eine sehr süße Katze :) Von der Unterkunft aus kommt man sehr gut nach Catania, Taormina und zum Ätna. Somit ist sie ein sehr guter Ausgangspunkt um Sizilien kennenzulernen. Wir hatten einen sehr schönen und unvergesslichen Aufenthalt und freuen uns darauf irgendwann wieder zu kommen.

Quand la beauté des lieux rencontre la gentillesse des propriétaires
Un endroit magique, tout est beau. Nous avions loué les 2 chambres, plusieurs terrasses pour admirer les vues et prendre ses repas. Un excellent séjour !
Antonia et Claudio sont adorables, ils nous ont accueillis chaleureusement, et conseillé des lieux à visiter autour de l'Etna, il y avait plein de petits cadeaux dans le logement qui est particulièrement beau et spacieux, la vue de la terrasse est imprenable sur la mer, on y voit également les fumerolles de l'Etna, tout est dispo dans le logement pour passer un excellent séjour, nous vous remercions sincèrement pour votre accueil, ce fût un plaisir de vous rencontrer.

Tolles Haus, liebevoll eingerichtet
Das Haus und der Garten sind wirklich sehr schön. Hier wurde mit viel Liebe zum Detail entworfen und gestaltet. Wir haben es genossen unter den Zitronenbäumen zu frühstücken und abends auf der Dachterrasse ein Glas Rotwein zu trinken. Die Aussicht ist toll. Claudio und Antonella sind sehr nette und hilfsbereite Gastgeber. Wir würden jederzeit sehr gerne wieder dort Urlaub machen. Der Standort ist hervorragend für Ausflüge nach Catania, Taormina und zum Ätna.

Una splendida sorpresa!
Tre giorni in pieno relax in una splendida casa ricavata da un antico palmento mirabilmente ristrutturato! Vista mozzafiato sugli agrumeti e il mare a est, l'Etna a ovest! L'ultima serata con la Luna quasi piena e il vulcano in attività la ricorderò per sempre!

Empfehlung für eine geraume Zeit
Die sehr freundlichen, netten und hilfreichen Gastgeber Antonella und Claudio machen den Aufenthalt sehr angenehm. Alle Fragen werden umgehend beantwortet oder eine entsprechende Erkundigung eingeholt. Die sehr interessante Gestaltung der Räumlichkeiten ist sicher im Sommer angenehmer als in der dunklen und kühlen Jahreszeit. Die separate Gemeinschaftsküche könnte bei gleichzeitiger Belegung des zweiten kleine App zu Problemen führen. Der schöne Strand von San Marco ist leider eine halbe Stunde weg, doch das wußten wir und haben es gut mit unseren Ausflügen verbinden können. Unseren Dank an die Gastgeber für die schöne Zeit (trotz einiger Wetterkapriolen) können wir an der Stelle gerne sagen. Paßt gut auf Sira und Lia auf, dass sind auch zwei ganz liebe (Tiere: Katze und Hund). Grazie, saluti e arrivederci alla prossima volta Anett und Fritz

Sehr, sehr freundlich und wahnsinns Aussicht!
Der zu vermietende Anteil des Privatgrundstücks besteht aus drei einzelne Teilen mit separatem Eingang von einem kleinen gemeinsamen Vorplatz aus: - ein Doppelzimmer mit eigenem Bad - eine Zweizimmerwohnung mit eigenem Bad - eine extra Küche, die für beide Einheiten zugänglich ist, indem man die zwei, drei Meter über den Vorplatz geht. Wir waren mit zwei Parteien unterwegs, weshalb das Teilen der Küche problemlos war. Die Küche ist klein, es reicht aber für vier bis fünf Perspnen, um in ihr zu essen, falls das Wetter schlecht ist. Ist das Wetter gut darf man die auf dem ganzen Grundstück verteilten Sitzplätze nutzen. Wir waren immer auf der Dachterrasse, die eine fantastische Aussicht auf das Meer bis zum italienischen Festland reichend bietet. Ebenso sieht man Castelmolo linkerhand und den Vulkan im Rücken. Der Garten ist wunderschön, bietet eine Wiese zum Kicken und Obstbäume, von denen wir pflücken durften (Kirsche, Zitrus, Granatapfel...) Die beiden Wohneinheiten sind urig und geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Die Beschreibung bekommt nur vier Sterne, da das mit den getrennten Zimmern und der Küche erst im Gespräch klar wurde und v.a. die Lage und Aussicht untertrieben ist!!!! Ein Auto mind. passt aufs Grundstück, in Absprache vielleicht auch zwei...? Claudio und Antonella waren sehr, sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Vielen Dank für den tollen Aufenthalt!!!

Location da sogno!
Abbiamo soggiornato tre giorni in questa location davvero suggestiva, ai piedi dell’Etna. Etna dependance è un posto magico, in piena tranquillità e a due passi da tutto. Gli appartamenti sono curati nel dettaglio e assolutamente PULITI. Antonella e Claudio ci hanno accolto nel migliore dei modi, sono due persone adorabili. Ci siamo sentiti subito a casa. Gentili e molto disponibili senza essere invadenti. Nei giorni precedenti l’esperienza in Sicilia non era stata delle migliori ma grazie a loro abbiamo rivalutato tutto. Il nostro non è un addio ma un arrivederci!

Location pleine de charme et des propriétaires charmants. Très bonne situation.
Lorsqu'on arrive à destination, on est surpris par l'environnement peu engageant mais dès qu'on franchit la barrière, on est séduit par le charme de l'endroit, par la gentillesse des propriétaires et par la décoration des pièces ainsi que des terrasses et du jardin. Cuisine très complète. Un endroit à recommander.

Urlaub im Paradies
Ein wunderschöner Ort und sympathische Gastgeber! Alles ist genau so, wie es auf den Fotos aussieht, wenn nicht besser. Apartment und Küche sind liebevoll eingerichtet und sehr gepflegt. Überall auf dem Gelände findet man ein sonniges oder schattiges Plätzchen zum Genießen und Entspannen: Morgenkaffee in den Sesseln vor der Küche, spätes Frühstück unter Zitronenbäumen, Lesen in der Hängematte, Aperitivo und Abendessen auf der fantastischen Terrasse mit Blick auf Ätna, Stromboli, Taormina und das Meer … Man könnte also einfach die ganze Zeit dort bleiben und relaxen, wäre nicht auch noch die Lage perfekt für Ausflüge – zum Ätna, nach Taormina, Catania, Siracusa, Noto und natürlich ans Meer. Wir waren zwei Wochen in der Etna Dependance und hätten glatt noch eine Woche dranhängen können. Vielen Dank, Claudio und Antonella für eure Gastfreundschaft und für eine tolle Zeit.

Charmantes Quartier mit herrlichem Ausblick
In dem liebevoll eingerichteten Quartier kann man ohne Sorgen die Seele baumeln lassen. Mehrere schöne Sitzplätze laden zum Verweilen ein. Gen Osten mit Blick über Giarre zum Meer. Wendet man sich um, blickt man auf den Ätna. Fantastisch! Der Garten voller Zitronen-, Orangen-, Grapefruitbäumen, von denen man sich nach Bedarf bedienen kann. Dazwischen Olivenbäume, die das typisch südländische Flair verstärken. Das Quartier gliedert sich in zwei separate Appartements und eine Küche, die allesamt von einem kleinen Innenhof erschlossen werden. Die dicken Mauern (in der Küche sind zum Teil die Lava-Steine sichtbar) vermitteln Geborgenheit. Wir haben die Zeit bei Claudio und Antonella genossen. Beide haben sich rührend um uns gekümmert und mit allerlei Empfehlungen und Tipps versorgt. Vom Quartier kommt man - bei Bedarf - rasch auf die Autobahn und kann die Insel erkunden.

Ein zauberhafter Garten mit verschiedenen Terrassen mit Blick auf den Etna und das Meer . Er entschädigt für die einsame Lage am Rande von San Venerina. Claudio und seine Familie sind sehr sehr hilfsbereit und reizend. Lediglich die Betten sind nicht sehr bequem. Die Küche und das Appartement sind sehr sauber und gemütlich und es ist alles da. Man benötigt auf jeden Fall ein Auto um zu diesem Domizil zu gelangen und auch um die Gegend zu erkunden und zu den weiter entfernten Stränden zu gelangen.

Eine Unterkunft mit Charme
Wir haben zwei wundervolle Wochen bei Claudio und Antonella verbracht. Haus und Garten sind mit viel Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet und gestaltet. Trotz der Hitze war es in der Wohnung angenehm und es gab im Garten immer ein schattiges Plätzchen. Die Küche ist gut ausgestattet, so hat das Kochen Spaß gemacht! Ansonsten gibt es in der Nähe auch ein paar Restaurants (Auto erforderlich). Die Lage mit Blick auf den Ätna ist perfekt, um den Osten und Süden der Insel zu erkunden. Vielen Dank euch beiden für alles, wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt..ihr seid die perfekten Gastgeber!!!!
