  • Beautifully handcrafted home, one and a half stories with large bedroom upstairs, open floor plan down stairs, 3 patios, one with an immaculate private hot tub. Located in the mountains southeast of Santa Fe, so quiet that all you hear are crickets, birds and an occasional coyote in the night. Five minute walk into the Santa Fe National Forest. Fully furnished and equipped home. 4WD is required during the winter months.

The property is stunning in every way and Dorothy is an amazing host. Located outside of Santa Fe, this peaceful retreat is just what you need to recharge your batteries. Dorothy has thought of everything and the few times I needed her help for something she was a phone call away. She was kind, friendly and very welcoming. There was a cold spell when we were but the jacuzzi made it perfect! I'm sure I will be back!

Loved the house. The pictures don't do it justice. One of the nicest houses we've stayed in. Loved the warm floors in the morning. Very quiet neighborhood and feels a lot more secluded than it is. My only regret is that I never got around to trying out the hot tub. Would definitely stay here again.

Really enjoyed my stay. It was beautifully decorated , clean, comfortable, peaceful, outside of 5g, centrally located to my New Mexico adventures and reasonably close to the airport. Dorothys place really checked all of the boxes for me for a restorative trip. The views of the stars are amazing from here. I have not stayed at many properties such as this but it was a really great experience way better than a hotel, I should like to come back again soon when return! Thank you for being a great host

Enjoyed the stay. The house was clean and quaint. The assistance from the owner (Dorothy) was fantastic during arrival. Even though there were other houses near by, the house felt isolated due to all the trees surrounding it. Would definitely stay again. For anyone reading this review, I would suggest a four wheel drive in the winter months. The drive up to the house could present some challenges.

Secluded and Tranquil

This was an excellent location to conclude our visit to New Mexico and Arizona. We had been on the road for about four days leading up to our stay and really needed a place to relax before we returned to Maine. This was the perfect location for that.

Great house

The house was very clean and the kitchen was well stocked. The location was perfect for for getting to explore the local mountains. We hiked at holy ghost creek and the sante fe national forest near the ski slope. It was great to take a long soak in the hot tub after the long hike.

Great Get Away!!!!

This was our 25th wedding anniversary trip and this place will always be special to us! It was the perfect home, just right for 2 people! The location was quiet and looked very Santa Fe! The place we stayed was very clean which I loved! It was a unique neatly decorated home. Lovely places to sit out front and back. The hot tub was amazing! We hope to stay there again soon!

We had such a fantastic time at Dodie's place. It is so well designed, super clean and stocked with everything we needed. The furniture, the bed and the layout of the home is superb. Santa Fe retreat

We were lucky enough to stay in Dorothy’s charming retreat outside Santa Fe. Filled with lovely folk art, it has a wonderfully peaceful feeling. We enjoyed the hot tub under the stars. Close enough to Santa Fe to go for dinner or the sites but far enough away to be another world. Would recommend highly for a romantic relaxing stay.

We LOVED staying here! The entire house is its own vibe! Seriously, we would live here if we could. Our favorite thing was the hot tub, which we were lucky enough to get to enjoy during the day since the weather turned chilly on us. Overall, the house is in a lovely location, and very relaxing! Cozy Retreat Under the Stars

This is the perfect place to stay if you want to be out in nature but close to Santa Fe, NM. Dodie’s home is comfortable, well stocked with everything you need, and gives you privacy to completely relax while you’re there. Our host was very responsive when we had questions. Her place is beautiful with lots of flowers and hummingbirds in the yard. We enjoyed it!

My husband and I have stayed at many places all over The country and this is by far the best place we have ever stayed. So quiet and tranquil, and the most stocked kitchen of any place I have ever seen for a rental, including coffee (French press) in the morning. Wonderful hot tub. Unique, charming and spacious. Well appointed kitchen. Hot tub was not only great but it’s located in a secluded spot in the backyard a little below the main patio area. Quiet getaway

This home was perfect for my husband and me—tucked away from the hustle and bustle yet just a short drive to everything we needed. It was spotless, had a fresh scent, and everything functioned perfectly. I highly recommend a vehicle with AWD, as mentioned in the listing. We experienced an unexpected snowstorm, making the roads a bit slick and the snowfall heavy, but it was all worth it. We cozied up and enjoyed a peaceful, quiet weekend.
