Beautiful grounds. Great beach access. The two on site restaurants get busy, so make reservations, especially for dinner. Some of the villas are close to a very busy street, so ask for a quitter villa at check-in.
The hotel was clean, quiet. The pool area was very nice although we only used it for the hot tub in the evening. The beds are very comfortable and we really enjoyed our short stay. The small balconies are a bonus.
It's old small hotel need more cleaning and update. Staff are nice. Breakfast is okay and this time they was no toaster or microwave to warm up the cold bread.
Great location for wine tasting in the SY Valley. Easy walk to all the great shops, restaurants and tasting rooms in Solvang. Recommend this hotel for couples, girls weekend and families. The breakfast was an added bonus. We will definitely stay here again!
Spent a few nights this week at the hotel. Lovely staff, wonderful grounds, great room, and excellent service from the hotel, spa, and restaurant staff. I travel to Santa Barbara regularly and will stay here again without a doubt.
With 300 days of sunshine a year, a warm, Mediterranean climate and miles of beautiful white sand beaches, Santa Barbara is a destination for the spa and wellbeing crowd. Between the Santa Ynez mountains and located a hundred miles up the coast from LA, it's a perfect escape for a relaxing spa break or to use as a base for exploring the Californian coast.
Santa Barbara is renowned for its good quality hotels and resorts, and many offer spa treatments or deluxe full-service spas. For the full five-star spa experience head to the suburbs of Goleta or Montecito, where you'll find beautiful beachfront resorts with luxury spas.
But if you want to be in the heart of the action, book a three- or four-star hotel with a spa in downtown Santa Barbara, and be within walking distance of the city's main attractions and its buzzing nightlife.
Santa Barbara's year-round sunshine means it's very much an outdoors city. Head to one of the many beaches, such as Butterfly Beach in the chic suburb of Montecino, for a mindfulness jog through the surf.
Or you could hire a bike and cycle out to the sleepy surf town of Carpinteria, home to Rincon Beach, one of California's hottest surf spots, and Carpinteria State Beach, renowned for its shallow, reef-protected waters and a beautiful spot for meditation.
Another mindful trip is to the city's oceanfront parks. Visit the whale-watching area in Shoreline Park in Mesa, or take an open-air yoga class in Chase Palm Park, between downtown and East Beach.
There are several hotels and inns with spas in the Santa Ynez Valley, a clutch of five towns 30 miles northwest of the city. It's known as Santa Barbara County wine country, thanks to the 100 or so vineyards and wineries.
