Prior to arrival we reconfirmed our reservation for a 2nd floor dbl queen. When we arrived they said we received a free upgrade to a full suite on the ground floor. The ground suite unit was at the very back of the property, was dark, and had little natural light as it was under a stairway. And further, we didnt ask for an upgrade. Before going to the room, we were told this suite was much better than any of the double queens they puld offer. After complaining when we got to the room, we were relocated to a double queen on the 3rd floor of back building, which was quite nice. My thought was, why was this upgrade done when our request for a second floor dbl queen had been confirmed AND the room we would want was actually available? Was it because we were an Expedia reservation? Also, the place wakes up early....housekeeping outside our door before 8am, people doing tile work, and a guy drilling loudly at property next door. The property is cute overall, the restaurant is okay, and service other than front desk was good. But note the hotel is not near other amenities without having a car. Also, note that if you are a BW member, if you make your reservation thru Expedia you don't receive points.
