It's characterised by narrow, winding streets, traditional Sicilian architecture, and bustling piazzas. You'll find many family-run restaurants, artisan shops, and local markets here. Key landmarks include the main church, Chiesa Madre, and the old town hall, Palazzo Comunale. This area is very walkable, allowing you to easily explore on foot. For couples, the historic centre offers a truly authentic experience. You can enjoy romantic dinners at traditional trattorias, wander through cobbled streets, and discover hidden courtyards. It's a great base for experiencing the local culture and enjoying evenings out without needing to travel far.If you prefer sea views and easy access to the beach, the Lungomare is an excellent choice. This area stretches along the coastline and features a promenade great for strolls. Hotels here often have balconies with sea views, and you're just steps away from the beach. It's generally a quieter area compared to the historic centre.Families often find the Lungomare appealing due to its proximity to the beach and open spaces. The best time to go to Sant'Antonio is during the shoulder seasons of May, early June, September, and early October. These months offer pleasant weather, with warm temperatures superb for exploring, but without the intense heat and larger crowds of the peak summer months. You'll find the sea warm enough for swimming and outdoor dining a delightful experience. It's a great time for couples looking for a romantic escape, as the fewer crowds allow for more intimate experiences at local trattorias and along the picturesque coastline. For those planning a family holiday, late June and July are also excellent choices. While these months are warmer and busier, they coincide with school holidays, making them ideal for families. The extended daylight hours mean more time for beach activities and exploring the town, and the lively option can be quite enjoyable for children.
