"Could be solid but a lot of the staff seemed upset and disinterested. 1 would not fill up water bottle as too far in kitchen. Another played music while cleaning up despite beautiful quiet morning with birds. Another swore when seeing mess left by an animal. Front desk was super awesome however. For the momey cluld of been great"

"What an incredible stay! Thank you so much to the doorman (sorry i didn't get your name), Syafina and Azizan.
Thank you for making my short stay so memorable.
The hotel was spotless, the attention to detail by housekeeping was wonderful. I loved the pool and the food and I wish I could have stayed longer.
I loved the map which came with the keycard that mapped the Sandakan heritage trail, which I followed and had a great day trip. If you're staying in Sandakan and want a piece of luxury and to watch an amazing sunrise and sunset this hotel is the place for you.
Thank you so much!"
"ok... trying to give a balanced view here.
The location was superb, and we walked to Sepilok Orangutan sanctuary twice, easily, in 5 mins, and had amazing experiences. Wonderful memories. loved that.
The hotel itself. Once upon a time it was probably very flash. nowadays it needs some love and maintenance.
The choices for dinner in the restaurant were very limited (but the food we ordered tasted good), and the breakfast was very ordinary.
The pool area needs some maintenance and I did not put my ears in the water even though it was 30+ degrees. gross scum marks at the waterline. Just looked disgusting.
The gym is a joke. We booked because it had one. Unfortunately every machine is broken, there is no air con, and the toilet and changing area are filthy. Unusable.
We booked a basic room, so didn't expect miracles, but did expect air conditioning. sorry no., You need to upgrade for that at double the price! it still wasn't that cold, but was still worth the upgrade."
"We wanted a mid priced hotel near the centre of town/ waterfront.
The room had everything we needed. Enough space to open two suitcases. Comfy bed. Good towels. Kettle and tea/coffee making. Separate bathroom. The shower was good. We did notice the silicone around shower glass was very thick, amateurish, but it worked.
We used the waterfront restaurant for breakfast and it had a decent selection, including an egg station.
We also had one meal in the rooftop area with views down over the harbour.
It is close to other waterfront restaurants.
Its opposite a large multistory mall with many food, grocery, pharmacy, clthing stalls.
Behind that there is a laundromat and the wet markets. We enjoyed seeing all the fresh produce including the fishing boats return.
Parking is out the front and regulated by the hotel staff. We hired a driver for two day to go out to all the atttractions , Lobock Bay Probiscus Monkey Sanctuary, Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre, Sun Bears, Rainforest Discovery Centre ( including return to collect us at 8pm after night walk) as well as temple, SinmSim Water Garden, Sandakan Death March Memorial, Edith Keith house and museum.
We thought there was a lot to see and do and just needed a good bed before our tour to Sukau and Utan for wildlife. "
"Super cute and tranquil place; staff are so warm and welcoming, views are unmatched, and food is amazing. They run a free shuttle bus to everything around the area 3 times a day and also easy to walk. Nice spot to go on runs - I ran to the market in the morning that has some amazing vintage shopping there. Would highly recommend!"
"Rooms never serviced. Bring your own shower gel and shampoo. Thin towels and only two per room. Cold breakfast from the buffet. Could do with having a drinks and snacks cabinet. Lumited cold drinks when resturant shut. Nothing around there shop wise. Bring supplies. On the plus the people at the desk were good. And walking distance to Orang-Utan, Sun Bear and RDC. Or 4 ringets in taxi, so cheap."
