Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
Not the worst but definitely would not recommend. Staff was amazing, and view was nice but the accommodations were lacking. I would say you're better off getting an airbnb at this price point. The hotel was dated, generally dingy, and not well maintained. For example all the caulking in the bathroom was moldy, shower had missing tiles, water from sink leaked on the floor, and in the room the beds were very old and minimal usable outlets. I'm not one to write bad reviews, but want to warn anyone thinking they are getting a deal for a 3 star hotel to temper their expectations.
Beautifully located, safe, with great staff and facilities for the price. There are also 9 lovely cats hanging out around the property - the owner's pets. Peaceful and quiet location - perfect for staying away from the San Pedro tourist strip.

Quiet hotel with a beautiful, spacious rooftop terrace. An easy 10 minute walk through small streets and safe alleyways to the central part of town and lanchas to other towns.
It´s a very nice place lake front with beautiful views from two terraces, one with umbrella tables and the other with sunbeds. Nice, ample and clean rooms. Quiet, no TVs, no A/C (not needed), abundant hot water. Beds a little hard, comfy pillows. Delicious restorant Gato Perdido. Not for handycap persons, steps everywhere.
A newer establishment, very clean, in a style done with traditional Spanish flare. A restaurant with great food but slow service, & provides you with excellent views.
One of the outstanding features of this property is the manager, you see him out there cleaning windows and doing work as well as being a great concierge, with a bit of humor and wit. The location is right on the water. There is a wonderful deck for sunning or just hanging out on the second floor. The rooms are beautiful, a little smaller than typical, but the property has many wonderful places to relax. Everything is in walkable distance if you use the beach as a shortcut, nothing in town is out of reach.

We were not sure what to expect when we arrived and still had to walk with our luggage along a pedestrian walkway from the street where the tuktuk dropped us to the hotel entrance after arriving from via ferry.
However, we really enjoyed our stay here and appreciated its location and quiet location while still being conveniently located. The rooms are basic but clean. There is a lovely balcony on the top floor where you can enjoy views of the lake as you bask in the sun. The staff were friendly and helpful and gave me a phone number of a driver to hire a private car back to Antigua.
I also enjoyed the convenience of refilling my water bottles from the large bottled water dispensers, as well as renting a kayak from the hotel for only Q20.
The hotel is also located near laundry service for Q7 per lb and we highly recommend checking at the Thermal Spa and Tami’s massage located less than 5 min away.
If you are looking for a quiet place to stay on the beach, I recommend Mikaso.
good staff. near the dock with good view of lake. decent walk to main places. plenty of cats around. has a restaurant inside, the food was great. water pressure and heat in shower could be better.
A charming little place with a welcoming staff, sweet cats on the property, and a gorgeous view of the lake. Nothing too fancy, but definitely more than you’d expect for the price.
Mikaso Hotel, es excelente. Limpio, tranquilo y con una vista espectacular del lago. Realmente fue una estadía super linda.Hay muchos gatos tan amorosos, wow me encanto! Muy recomendado!

Basic hotel with amazing views
It was very reasonably priced and they were able to find us a decent room after they messed up our reservation. The bedding is very basic. The hot water in the shower only works for 1 minute at a time and the shower flooded the whole bathroom.
The views of the lake were fantastic. The restaurant was pleasant with yummy pizzas. There was a nice deck with a pool table and hot tub. The location was quiet but central.
This was a beautiful hotel with wonderful views of the lake. The room was clean; bed was very comfortable; it was very quiet. The restaurant upstairs had great food and overlooked the lake. The staff was helpful. There was a discrepancy in the Expedia price and the hotel price and the manager honored the Expedia price. I would highly recommend this hotel.
My only complaint would be with the guide recommended by the hotel for the hike up Indian Nose. He was a really nice person with lots of enthusiasm, but we did not actually go to the TOP of the mountain! For some unknown reason there were other hikers up there, but our group was not allowed. If I had known we were not going to the top, I would have booked with another group.
But the hotel was great - I would love to retire there!
It was on the quieter side of town, where it's extra beautiful and magical. Still lots to do and eat, and great bars but less loud & super young like the other side. Had more of a community vibe here. The view is beyond spectacular from the terrace, super close to the volcano and right on the water. Beds were comfortable and the whole place is quite beautiful.
The view from the terrace in front of our room was divine, absolutely jaw dropping stunning. But the hotel itself is in desperate need of some major cleaning, renovating. Bathroom was dirty, towels tattered and stained. Definitely not 3 star even by Guatemalan standards. It is more an upscale backpacker hotel. If you want a great view try for room 9 or 10.
