Better with brand name hotel

Posted 24-Apr-2017
Pros: The plants and flowers were nice and staff were very friendly and nice. And it was next to a diner that was busy and had good food.
Cons: See above. Update the hotel and care about how it looks to have chipped tiles, broken off plumbing just capped in a shower.
I was disappointed. The staff were very nice, but I was tempted to take photos of how poorly maintained the hotel was. Broken curb concrete to start in the parking lot, stairwells very musty and not left open to air out in the day, plumbing in my shower just capped off at mid level, chipped bathroom tile in the bathroom. They show this quaint pool and the feeling is a local inn with nice character. It is one that should be sold to Comfort Inn or Quality Inn to be renovated and held to some standard. Definitely would have been better off at Motel 6 across the street.

Lovely roses, clean hotel

Posted 17-Apr-2017
Pros: Clean room with plenty of space.
Cons: Counter space around the sink.
Location: Margie's Diner, next door, was disappointing. Portions huge, but my food was cold; my grandkid said her sliders tasted off; she got nauseous later.
Our evening clerk was very friendly and helpful, the morning person seemed a little less interested in being either of those. The room was nice, but the beds a bit hard for my liking. The biggest complaint I would note is that the sink does not have any counter space, so no where to put your stuff while prepping for the day. All-in-all, I would return to this hotel. The always available cookies and coffee in the lobby were a nice touch that my grandkids thoroughly enjoyed!

Photos do not truly represent hotel

Posted 10-Apr-2017
The pictures on Expedia for Rose garden are truly trick photography, beds come equipped with bugs, and left over trash. Continental breakfast sucked.

Grandpa's Trailer

Posted 10-Apr-2017
Cons: Complete remodel
Our 2 rooms were so stuffy. Smelled as if it were closed up for year with decor to match. Had to ask for air freshener at front desk which they had a king size can. I must not be the only one asking. Had to leave the room for a couple hours before it was even remotely bearable and slept with windows open. If we could have changed hotels we would but since ALL hotels in the area were booked because of Cal Poly Open House we had to just roll with it.

Nice hotel, but...

Posted 09-Apr-2017
This is a nice hotel, with nice staff in a good location. However, the walls between the rooms were so thin that I was hearing every sound my neighbors made (including their kids screaming at 12 am). Due to this, it was a very uncomfortable experience. Also, the room lacks more than two charging ports (which were next to the sink) so bring an adapter or be prepared to unplug the tv/refrigerator.

Hotel for one night

Posted 09-Apr-2017
While the staff and cleanliness of the room was excellent, the condition of the hotel itself is bad. One of the outside doors didn't open and I also had trouble getting into my room. It took about 10 attempts until I could open it. The bed cover consisted of one sheet and one very thin blanket. the hallway smelled lightly like cold cigarette smoke.

Decent hotel for a reasonable price

Posted 07-Apr-2017
Though a little dated decor-wise, the hotel was clean and a good value. Other guest seems to be a good mix of families who put good use to the pool area. Lovee being able to walk to the diner next door for dinner. I will definitely stay here again when I'm in SLO.
