quiet spot, great SLO access!

Posted 23-Jun-2017
Pros: Comfy vibe--real people work at and stay at this place.
Location: My morning walk took me right to the Route 101 on ramps and past three or four other hotels, yet you get a secluded feel here.
Quiet little place nestled in with some bigger hotels: this one is small and charming--nice groundskeeping [roses (and geraniums) aplenty in keeping with the name], great diner adjacent [GIGANTIC portions of wonderful food!] and the biggest hot tub I have ever seen: it's like a pool! There were twelve people in it when I arrived, and there was room to spare. Felt great after a day on the road. Rooms were well maintained--nothing fancy, but clean and comfortable. Sliding glass door out the back onto a lawn and a couple of chairs by each door enhance the charm of the place. The breakfast will get you on the road: yogurt cups, oatmeal packets, hot coffee, cocoa, and a wide tea selection.

Ok but not luxury

Posted 05-Jun-2017
Ok, not luxury. Places were full and very expensive because of the season. It was cheaper and available but I think it was considerably overpriced for the condition and age of the property. Clean but old

Family friendly motel

Posted 15-May-2017
Pros: The Spa
Cons: updated decor, more towels, Couldn't find the light switch because it was in the cupboard.
Location: Margies Diner next door is TERRIBLE! Don't be fooled by the size of the servings. It is a waste and the food is not very nice.
We stayed for two nights and enjoyed a relaxing stay. We had a double room for our family which was quite comfortable. The decor probably needs updating but the room was comfortable. I love the retro look of the lobby - it would be good if they did that through out. We LOVED the spa!

Clean but run down

Posted 08-May-2017
Everyone was very helpful and friendly. The room was clean just really run down and outdated. I never did get hot water for my shower- just warm enough to get in.

in strong need of renovation

Posted 04-May-2017
- in need of renovation! water taps not working, toilet flush doesn't stop, dangerous cover of air condition in the room, double beds very small, fridge very noisy, room card not working continuously, (police men in front of the building?) + friendly staff, nice pool area, good parking

Better with brand name hotel

Posted 24-Apr-2017
Pros: The plants and flowers were nice and staff were very friendly and nice. And it was next to a diner that was busy and had good food.
Cons: See above. Update the hotel and care about how it looks to have chipped tiles, broken off plumbing just capped in a shower.
I was disappointed. The staff were very nice, but I was tempted to take photos of how poorly maintained the hotel was. Broken curb concrete to start in the parking lot, stairwells very musty and not left open to air out in the day, plumbing in my shower just capped off at mid level, chipped bathroom tile in the bathroom. They show this quaint pool and the feeling is a local inn with nice character. It is one that should be sold to Comfort Inn or Quality Inn to be renovated and held to some standard. Definitely would have been better off at Motel 6 across the street.
