I really wanted to like this hotel as the staff were pleasant enough and I think the building is under new ownership/management. To start off they could not find my reservation and they had to hunt in the back office to verify its prepaid existence (be advised they also charge a amenities fee i.e. a security deposit at check in). What should have been a 5 minute check in was probably closer to 15 . In addition it seemed that either they were not properly trained on the computer or its horribly antiquated and really slow (this theme continued at checkout). Getting to the room on the positive it was a large room with two double beds and DirecTv. However, the room was (as the entire grounds were) in need of a serious makeover. The bathroom was in very rough shape with chipped linoleum, a mirror where the perimeter of the reflective coating had worn off and the tub fixtures, caulking and grout were a mess. Additionally, it was a bit unclean but perhaps that was just the impression I received from the overall condition of the bathroom. The mattresses seemed to be very old and soft. Check out was a nightmare as you can't just check out in your room (on the TV) and they have no dropbox for your keys in the lobby. I had to wait for two people checking in ahead of me (who had similar problems as my own at check in) and it took approximately 20 to 25 minutes to check out (guests waiting in the lobby were commenting to the clerk that checking out should not be that hard).

Staff was very nice and hotel was close to the heart of SLO. Lots of restaurants and stores nearby too

I pulled up and opened my car door and the smell of roses was wafting through the air. Beautiful grounds.

I was so disappointed. I could not stay in the room, as I had a serious asthma attack as soon as I entered the room. It could be the cleanser or the deodorizer. There was the smell of smoke in the corridor and the hotel was under brand new management. I hope they succeed. I had to stay at a different hotel.

I loved this hotel! Clean rooms, comfy bed, great set ups for the room and the price is right! Will definitely be staying here again next time I'm in SLO!

Hotel run down. Non-smoking rooms smelled like cigarettes. In room phone didn’t work and smoke detector was covered with plastic bag. Staff was friendly. For the price I might have been better off going to another hotel.

The outside / indide if hotel isnt kept up . Hallways have a smell , comforters are old , ved is uncomfortable. Hard to get a good nights rest.

Not in great condition but good deal for the price

The heater was loud and woke us up at night. The hotel had no conditioner -- shampoo only. We had to go buy some. The front desk staff are very helpful and friendly.
