Best hot tub around

Posted 07-Jan-2018
Pros: I am disabled so I can not give enough praise to the hot tub. For me, it is a key reason why I stay.
Location: It is 15 minutes from downtown Pismo Beach & 5 minutes from downtown San Luis Obispo. It is a few exits away from The Madonna Inn. Hearst Castle.
My husband and I stay at the Rose Garden Inn in San Luis Obispo every year for New Year's Eve. They have one of the best hot tubs ever! It has really pretty lights and waterfalls behind it and the water is nice and hot. It is easily the size of two kiddie pools combined. As soon as I am able to I will book my room for next year! The staff is nice and the room are clean. We have never had a problem with that. It is only about 15 minutes from downtown Pismo Beach. And Margie's Diner is right next store. You can share a meal and still have extras at a great rate. You will not regret staying here.

The best place to sleep the night away after a day

Posted 15-Dec-2017
Pros: The beds and the next door restaurant.
Cons: The rooms closer to Highway 101 can be noisy at night.
While not much to look at, the beds in the Rose Garden Inn are among the most comfortable you'll ever sleep in, regardless of how much you pay! If you're looking for a place to stay for the night, you've found it. We have been staying here frequently (3 visits so far this year alone) as we've been coming and going from CalPoly with our student.

This place is like a motel. There were water stains on the ceiling.

Review

Pros: The staff were friendly and the room was clean.
Cons: New pillow please!
I expected to be on the lookout for potential issues because of the 3.5 star rating. I was pleasantly surprised to love the experience from check-in to check-out. The hotel staff was amazing and super friendly! The room was clean and the soap provided smelled and felt wonderful. The only draw back were the pillows, they were too hard and too thick for my taste.

Old School motel being squeezed in land developmen

Posted 02-Dec-2017
Pros: location
Cons: many things...(see above).
This place was semi-quaint and fun 10 years ago before behemoth Hampton and Courtyard encroached on the area; Staff very good, doing their best; place needs much infrastructure help---shower fixtures, moldy carpets, etc., and in 5 years I'll bet its bulldozed; restaurant next door -- Margie's Dinerr -- might be bulldozed sooner...an outrageously priced ""faux 60s diner'' tourist trap in last gasps...might well be demolished before the venerable Rose Garden.bites it.

Incredibly comfortable!

Posted 28-Nov-2017
Pros: Incredibly comfortable rooms.
Location: We got our daughter back to CalPoly; its very convenient for this!
The bed was to die for after a day of non-stop driving! You may want to ask for a room in building 2 (the one furthest from Highway 101), as the traffic did wake me up a few times during the night.

Pretty Dirty Hotel.

Posted 26-Nov-2017
Walking in, the front desk person was actually very nice throughout the check in process. However, the hotel itself had some problems. First, the room that we were assigned was dead bolted and we couldn't get inside the room with our keys. We had to call the front desk but he came to help as soon as possible and tried to solve the problem. He said he would look for another room and apologized and seemed to care, this person was the only good thing about our stay. Once we got into our new room, it seemed fine but it turns out it was pretty dirty. I'm not sure if they clean the place that much since the bathroom smelled like mold. The shower itself had lots of stuff stuck on it's handles that created the bad smell. Also, when we looked closer at the sheets, there were loose hairs from previous stayers and some of the sheets were stained slightly yellow. I know many hotel floors aren't considered the cleanest but The floor was very dirty and it easily blackened any clothing that touched it. The blow dryer and bits of hair stuck in it too. When we flushed the toilet, it kept running and making noise for a solid 15 minutes. Overall, the place is not kept well but the front desk guy seemed to care about our stay. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
