Dump with no parking

I would never stay at the property the only good thing here is the casino and the food !! First room window didn't close and they switched me to a first floor dump with outlets that didn't work . Lamp shades that barley were attached ! dirty bathtub . Noisey on first floor ! They don't even have parking ! U have to leave your keys with front desk ! Kind of sketchy when it takes them 20 minutes to bring the car to u ! Food is good staff ok and hotel is a run down dump that needs to be updated !!

Overnight stop

The only reason I would not recommend this hotel was because of the purpose we were using it for. We only used San Jose as an overnight stop to and from the airport book ending our vacation. While theoretically not that far from the airport it takes over an hour to get there because of a bridge being reduced to one lane each way causing a major backup on what seems to be the only major way to and from the airport. It was nice that there was a free shuttle from the airport but it's weird that they charge you to get back to the airport. The trip to ththe hotel doesn't seem to require any advance notice though I recommend contacting the hotel at lest 24 hours in advance to be sure someone will be there. The trip back to the airport required 48 hours notice and $5 per person. They have a small casino round the back which provided some light entertainment. It's dingy and what you'd expect from a divey casino. The staff were friendly, the rooms were clean. Though they did leave us with a survey to rate the room that had already been filled out so that was weird. The beds were comfortable enough, the rooms were quiet but the A/C was not controlled in the room and it got stifling hot. Ot was across from the main big park in San Jose so if our purpose was to stay in the city I think it would have been nicely situated, but as it was just an overnight stop and it was so far from the airport I would find a hotel closer next time I go.

Charming staff, exceptionally clean

Charming staff. Go out if their way to assist. Breakfast buffet fantastic. Restaurant in house, but near great Chinese and Italian restaurants. Bar in house. Everything perfect!

Wonderful Hotel

Pros: the room was spacious and comfortable. No added fees to anything-room service was prompt and free!
Location: beautiful park in walking distance with trails, lake and vendors. Close to downtown also.
I arrived late for my stay, but the staff was very welcoming and helped me to settle in after a long day! The morning buffet was great, dinner selections could have been better,but there was a great variety. When I was ready to leave the shuttle bus was delayed, so they put me in a cab!!

Pros: The staff. The location.
Cons: Be assured everything works in the room, like the safe box, the door lock.
The hotel is situated in a good neighborhood, with a lot of city activities in the surrounding areas. The staff is one of the most important pieces of this hotel. On top of the natural courtesy of the Costa Rica people, they surely go beyond expectations by making your stay unforgettable. Me and my wife had a couple of issues with our room that were taken care by the hotel staff in a way I have never seen. They made us feel like we were the most especial guests in the hotel. It was not only the apology, but the sincerity they showed when the issues developed. Having full breakfast included in the price saved us some good money, as eating outside is kind of pricey in San Jose. The rooms are very confortable, although the furniture is a little old fashioned. Room service is excellent, and no much more expensive than eating outside. It is a nice 4 stars hotel!

Short stay

Pros: Customer service. They really care about their customers.
I booked this hotel for one night as the price was good and the listing said that it was 2.5 kilometres from the airport. The hotel is actually 25 kilometres from the airport. Due to a closure of the highway it took over an hour to get to the hotel. The next morning with the highway open we got back to the airport in about 20 minutes. The hotel staff were beyond excellent!! They show exemplary customer service.

Nice breakfast buffet, excellent location. Room was comfortable. Pillows accept an improvement, though.
