Hotel with Casino

Posted 26-Apr-2016
Pros: The room we stayed in was a suite, so it was acceptional
Cons: Shuttle service was supposed to be free. We had to pay $30 That was part of our reason for choosing this hotel. If you require notification, say so!!
Location: Don't have anything to say about that
Only stayed one night, but all the staff that we communicated with were excellent english speakers and very friendly. The nice thing about the casino, I'm not much of a gambler, is that the lobby bar closed at 10pm, so we were able to walk next door and enjoy a few more drinks.

Pros: Clean comfortable and quiet.
Cons: nothing
Location: A ahort taxi ride to the town center.
Had read some bad reviews of this hotel but was pleasantly surprised. The rooms were clean and spacious, the staff friendly and very helpful, and the restaurant food very good. Would definitely stay here again.

Nice hotel but our bathroom was small for two

Posted 24-Apr-2016
Everything was good except the bathroom was small for two people to get ready at the same time. The bathroom door opened into the toilet or directly in front of the toilet, which also contributed to the congestion.

Loud!! but cute.

Posted 10-Mar-2016
We only stayed at the hotel one night because we were leaving from San Jose the next day to return home. The hotel is quaint and pretty cool in decoration. Their back communal patio is awesome with a small but nice pool. The only real complaint I had was how loud it was. You are right off a busy street and the windows do not close. I thought it was a joke until I realized, no they do not close. So you can hear the street, dogs, and most of all, the huge airplanes flying in and out of the airport. For $80.00 I guess it wasn't so bad but it could have been much better.

Booked a room for three adults and got a double room with a extra cot that looked like it came from a prison cell. Room was made up for one person but had to pay for a triple room. Wanted to speak to the manager but was told he would not be in until noon. I was leaving at 11am. The staff would not do anything for me. All I wanted was to pay for a double room instead of a triple a matter of $20 but was told no. Will never stay there again.

Excellent and good price

Posted 22-Feb-2016
Pros: Customer service is great! Jose and Javier, help us to move around, maps, taxis & tours booking. Breakfast is the best & is included. Not noisy place.
Location: Walking distance is the Museo de Arte Costarricense (nice & free) next to Sabana Park. One block away, take the bus to downtown for less than a $1.00
When I booked my reservation, like most of the travelers, I wasn't sure what to expect. I read what they offers, but sometimes the story can go in a different way. I'm glad to share that you should expect exactly what they advertised and the rooms looks exactly like the one that they show here on the pictures. We stay at Palma Real for our first 2 days in San Jose. We left the hotel to travel around Costa Rica for a few more days and then, we went back to this hotel for our last 2 days in Costa Rica. Compare with other hotels in Costa Rica overall, Palma Real was the best one. We even stay at other most expensive hotels and Palma Real Hotel was our favorite one, base in customer service, facilities, food and comfort. If we ever travel again to Costa Rica, we will stay there or recommend it.
