    West Portal is a small neighborhood situated on the western slopes of San Francisco. It offers a mix of shops, a variety of great restaurants, neighborhood bars, Peet’s, Starbucks and a local cinema; all of which lend to an atmosphere of 'retro-style' charm.

    The superb location of our home will provide you with convenient access to all areas in San Francisco. We are one block from the West Portal Muni station where you can board the K, L or M trains to reach the waterfront to visit Pier 39, Fisherman’s Wharf, Alcatraz and more! Visit Oracle Park Baseball Stadium, Home of the World Series SF Giants; enjoy shopping at Union Square, or ride our famous Cable Cars!

Perfectly located for a stay in the city. The neighborhood is lovely and steps away from great restaurants, shopping, and gourmet food stores. The train to downtown, beach, zoo is around the corner so you get the best of both worlds, a safe vibrant neighborhood to give you the feel of living in the city and access to all of the city has to offer. Parking at house is easy if you decide to have a car. Home is warm and inviting, beds are comfortable and kitchen is charming and perfectly appointed. Owner is welcoming, responsive when needed, and a wonderful host. Highly recommend a stay here.

Debra is an excellent host. She was appropriately communicative and available for anything we needed. Her home is clean, quiet, beautifully decorated, and comfortable - exactly what we needed. Deb’s place was perfect for my family and I when we came to San Francisco to visit my parents. The home was lovely, comfortable, and neat - a real home away from home. My daughter and I had a great trip to SF and this home was just right for us! Great location for picking up local transit, restaurants and stores close too. Loved that there was an assigned parking spot so we didn’t have to move the car! Lovely home, comfy beds, well equipped and clean! And great communication with the owner! This property was perfect in every way, the host was so kind, nothing was a problem and was so responsive. This was a perfect property for us to stay at while visiting San Francisco. The house was easy to find, on a quiet street, very comfortable beds, and has everything you need for your stay. The Muni stop at West portal is a short walk down the hill and takes you into downtown in 15 minutes. The town of West Portal is also a gem for those looking for a home base to explore the city or get away from the conference you’re attending downtown. We ate a different restaurant every night and they were all excellent. Our host Deb was amazing! Very communicative. Very helpful. I really appreciate everything you did for us. Thanks.

Nice place to stay in SF!

Unfortunately I was in San Francisco for a surgery at UCSF. I was there for one night and my family stayed on for five days. The house is very comfortable and fully equipped. It's in a great neighborhood and it has parking which is a major plus! Debra was a wonderful host. And if you are going to UCSF for any reason, it's very convenient.

Fabulous Location

West Portal is a wonderful communitythe house is in a colorful 1920’s neighborhood with trees & plants. Loved hearing the children at the school across the street with lovely birds singing their songs. The bed was comfy & there were plenty of hangers & drawers to unpack. The towels were nice & the shower was great with a rainfall head. We easily took the train into the city several times with the station being minutes away. Deb is a great communicator & a lovely host

Exceptional Stay close to UCSF

Our stay at this VRBO was exceptional. The location couldn't have been more perfect, especially for us needing proximity to UCSF. The neighborhood felt safe and welcoming, providing peace of mind throughout our stay. Of course, the comfortable beds and convenient parking were still standout features that enhanced our overall experience. But the added bonus of being within walking distance of charming shops and cafes truly made this VRBO a hidden gem. For anyone seeking a perfect blend of convenience, comfort, and local charm, this VRBO is an absolute must. Very comfortable

West Portal, where this super comfortable home is located, is a part of San Francisco that, though I'd worked in the City and visited countless times, I was unaware of. The area has everything for a base to explore the Bay Area. Walk to half a dozen good restaurants, solid public transport options, dynamic (sometimes a lotta fog) weather, and parks nearby. There's not much traffic and the neighborhood feel is authentic. The home has pretty much anything you'd need, fully equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, spacious living room and dining area. Super quiet at night. Book this home and you won't be disappointed (and I'm picky!).

Quiet and comfortable place to stay

This is a very lovely home with plenty of space. I needed a quiet and comfortable place to stay in the city for many days. The house is an older well-cared for, classic home with wood floors and accents. It is well appointed with comfortable furnishings and tasteful decorations, and comfortable beds. There are plenty of windows with lots of light and views to the hills and even the ocean and sunset when it is clear. The kitchen had everything we needed with more than enough dishes and utensils. The neighborhood is quiet and tucked away in the hills of the city, it was a great place for easy walks and always felt safe. Plenty of shops and stores in walking distance. Transportation light rail and muni is nearby in walking distance. The owner was a good and responsive communicator and very helpful to my specific needs. It was all i had hoped for. I would definitely stay here again, no hesitation at all.

Lovely home close to transit and neighborhood restaurants. It was perfect for my daughter and myself. The muni is easy to use to get to downtown without having to drive. Parking in the driveway was a definite plus, particularly considering the price to park in SF. Kitchen was well equipped. No dishwasher but not a problem for the two of us. Deb went above and beyond to make us welcome and assist with anything we needed. Across the street from an elementary school but that didn't bother us and it was very quiet in the evening and overnight. Would definitely stay again.

The home is in a great SF neighborhood.

Very walkable neighborhood with restaurants, groceries, parks, wine and even medical services nearby. The transit station will connect you with all parts of San Francisco. Host was very helpful and great to work with.
