Walk to Zoo & Witte! The classic charm of this eclectic and luxe 1920 San Antonio craftsman home mixed with modern style and conveniences will create a fun, welcoming retreat for your vacation! You will have a blast with your friends or family. The location can’t be beat! We are centrally located near all of the best that San Antonio has to offer, from the Zoo to the Riverwalk to sporting events at the Alamodome. The home is directly across the street from the Witte Museum, the San Antonio Zoo and Brackenridge Park so it’s great for adults, families and kids. It’s near Terrell Hills and Alamo Heights. Adults have a blast with the local restaurants next door. Kids have a blast in the small pool with mini waterfall and the fun zoo-themed home with cool animal and jungle decor. You can walk to the parks around the zoo, which include miles of trails and tree-covered park benches, with a miniature train for kids to ride! The beautiful Botanical Gardens are also right down the street, and the Doseum is about a mile away. The free Japanese Gardens are also across the street next to the Zoo. For adults, there is a great barbecue place next door that has great food, drinks and even a playground to keep the kids occupied! The Pearl, which is a fantastic area with shopping, restaurants, farmer's market and children's splash pad, is 5 minutes by car. In addition, the Brackenridge Golf Course and downtown are all 5-10 minutes by car. The Alamodome is a 10-minute drive away. And the Rodeo is about 14 minutes away at AT&T Center! The holiday lights on Broadway Street and at Incarnate Word University will wow you! We are very close to Incarnate Word (a half-mile or so). We are not far from Fort Sam. The spacious and eclectic living room has room for the whole family, and our dining room table is big enough for 8-9 people. We have a classic mid-century modern bar as well. We have games on hand for you to enjoy. The full-sized kitchen with island includes all items you need, from cookware, utensils, a blender, a coffee maker, coffee and much more. The bedrooms all include Roku TVs and plenty of pillows, blankets and accessories, such as a sleep machine, to keep you comfortable and to sleep soundly. Our first guests said they slept better than they had in a long time! Escape into the jungle-like backyard for outdoor fun all year, with outdoor seating, and even a heated small lounge pool! (This is smaller than a pool but larger than a spa.) Our garage has a dartboard, a poker tabletop and a small gathering spot for more fun outdoors. • We provide travel-sized shampoo, soap and conditioner; dish soap; laundry soap; toilet paper; and one roll of paper towels. • Our coffee maker is a regular coffee maker with a coffee pot. Our kitchen includes a gas stove and all of the pots, pans and utensils you need to cook! We have a blender, wine glasses, and more. We provide coffee! • We have wifi, a smart-tv in the living room, and an alarm system if you wish to use it. • We have a pack-n-play and a high chair available to use. • We also provide a Gas Grill BBQ pit in the backyard, and an outdoor propane heater! • Bonus space (garage) features a foosball table, dartboard and portable poker table top! We loved the sleeping arrangements and comfortable living area; and, especially loved having a full kitchen for making meals. The back porch area is private and the kids liked being able to cool off in the mini-pool. My only complaint would be that there are several popular bars and restaurants right next to the house and, although we were not bothered by noise, we did get blocked in the driveway once, with all the cars parked on the street. This location and the house was perfect for our family of 8 people. The bedrooms were spacious, the house was well stocked, and we relaxed in the beautiful backyard every evening. The restaurants nearby are delicious, we especially recommend the Smoke Shack. We walked through Brackenridge Park which is right across the street from the house. The heated pool was perfect for the varied weather, and it’s size was perfect for our kiddos ranging from 8 to 4 years of age. The home is a great size and the kitchen had all the cooking and dining gear we needed. Everything in was either walking distance or a quick 5-10 minute drive away, too! Wish the showers/ tubs were better to figure out for water temps, but other than that, it’s a great booking. Wish we could stay longer, and we plan to be back again. We walked (2 kids, age 4 and 8) to the zoo through beautiful and shady Brackenridge park. This was a wonderful walk. We also walked to the Witte Museum, Chipotle, ihop, smoke shack. This home was the perfect location. The pool was amazing for my kids and the back yard was a shady oasis. The mosquitoes and flies were the only nuisances we encountered. \*\*When Lori heard of our issue with the tiny mighty mosquitoes, she bent over backyard to spray the yard herself and also brought us supplies, The property was well maintained, cleaned and had all the amenities we hoped for...and then some (extra paper towels, trash bags, laundry, soaps and lots and lots of towels). We had a great stay in this home that was perfect for our little family. Our boys enjoyed the pool time and we enjoyed the proximity to everything. We walked to the San Antonio Zoo, Childrens Doseum and walked across the street to the Witte Museum. Perfect location and the home had everything we needed. Great job! The home is located 10i mins from downtown in a cool neighborhood with lots of character! The pictures do not do this place justice. The house is nicely decorated and well kept. The kitchen is fully stocked so no need to bring utensils, dishes, or cookware. There were four of us and there were plenty of blankets and towels. The backyard is the perfect place to relax and hang out. The neighborhood is lively but quiet at night and the early morning. The location is great as there are walking trails across the street and tons of options for food and libations close by. Lori was quick to respond to any question we had and was incredibly friendly.
