Levy Hotel in Salzburg was an oasis in the city. Located a block from the Hauptbahnhof,the rooms were extremely clean, large, and the staff extremely accommodating and wonderful. The breakfast was way more than I expected and included English offering of bacon and eggs. Since our room was in the main building, we didn't see how the other rooms in the other side buildings were and it might be difficult to check in when no one is sitting at the front desk but we're not able to comment on those aspects. Room is very clean and spacious with ample clothes hooks and hangers. My family love the warm breakfast too. Simple and hearty meal. The reception was also friendly and helpful in advising us how to go about exploring the nearby attractions. The only downside is, the lift is the old fashion type and it broke down on the morning that we were checking out and we had to carry down all our luggages. Thank goodness we were staying at the 2nd level. The view is not great (overlooking a construction site) but I was out most of the time. Stone throw away from the Salzburg train station (less than 5 mins walk) and is close to plenty of shops and restaurants. Also on the bus line coming from Airport, so no worries about big luggage (although there is no lift access in the property, so watch out!) Only issue was, there are few Levy's property next to each other and each having a main entrance. Took us a while to work out the correct main entrance. After that, everything else were amazing! Pro: convenient location to the train station. Clean and spacious room. Cons: no staff when you need them. We couldn’t even enter the property because no staff at all. We waited outside until some other guests swiped us in. Then we still couldn’t get the key. We had to make a call to their emergency number which costed us an international call plus roaming. They later told me there’s an email sent to me but I somehow didn’t receive it until we jumped through all the loopholes and stuck there for at least 15 minutes. The hotel can’t assume people have access to email and make phone calls on the same day you travel. It’s not the first time we use Expedia or similar type, but it’s the first time unable to check in ever happened to me. I was not happy about it. The information should be send out at least one day before arrival if not right after booking. The room was cold at night, especially shower room. There’s a little heater in the shower room but it doesn’t work. There’s no housekeeping available.
