There are many events held at Omotenashi Lab and one of them was loud until 8:30 PM, which just happened to work out perfectly for when I want to go to bed. I enjoyed the surrounding area, but there wasn't a lot of people my age, 27, so there wasn't much of a night life. The staff was friendly, but I wish they would have taken more interest in me. It seemed like I was just a tenet and not a guest in that respect, closer to a hotel patron than a guest at a guest house. I would probably book here again because I like the quite, the local library, and I didn't explore Sakura City quite enough. I also enjoyed the bottom bunk which had space for me to unpack and had a curtain for privacy and a lamp. That was a nice touch. Shampoo and body wash was included and shavers, toothbrushes and toothpaste, even combs. Aside from being accommodating, they don't seem to take much interest in the guests. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but a few questions about why I am in Japan didn't even happen. Some people might like that the hosts aren't very inquisitive, but I would have appreciated more interest from them.
