The staff is very attentive and they put a lot of love and care into the property. They helped arrange a couple of tours for us during our stay which were excellent. One of the tours was a trek at a tea farm a couple hours outside of Sapa and it was so beautiful. The property exceeded our expectations and I would highly recommend staying here if you are in Sapa. The meals served here were also incredible and healthy. You can tell they truly care about their guests and ensuring they have a wonderful stay. We have traveled around the world and Clay House will be remembered as one of our top tier experiences. Every detail, from the extreme hospitality, to the bedding, to the food was simply incredible. Hospitality: We were at clay house for about 24 hours but felt like family within the first hour. I am genuinely sad to leave the good people who make clay house a home. we had lovely conversations throughout our days and felt like we were in truly the best hands for all of our bookings around Sapa. we especially loved learning that the staff take a few days off to go on vacation together every year - they had just returned from Thailand - it makes sense given how truly close and happy everyone is. Food: holy cow. We love good food and elevated experiences. We have eaten at Michelin star restaurants around the world. Every dish at Sapa Clay House is on par with the best restaurants we’ve been to. We were continuously in awe of the beauty, freshness, taste, and presentation of our lunch, dinner, and breakfast. Chef Huan could have a job at any restaurant in the world. We are so lucky that he is the chef at Clay house. I wish we could have stayed and eaten there for a week. Our wine was also fantastic. After a busy few days we enjoyed the kindness of everyone in this family run retreat. They were so attentive and helpful and spoke English very well. The views from our room were incredible and everything from the bed linen to bathroom amenities are luxurious. Then there is the food made with love from their garden and local goods. The pool was wonderful to cool off after an enjoyable walk to the local village. I’m so glad we stayed just outside of Sapa town. Spent 3 nights and did not want to leave. Every staff member was super friendly and helpful and made us feel really welcome. Everyone had a huge smile on their face the whole time, really feels like you're staying with a special family. Everything is decorated beautifully, looks incredible and spotlessly clean. Food was delicious and the chefs put in a lot of effort making everything taste and look amazing and were great at accommodating any requests. Location perfect really short car trip into Sapa town but views of the mountains and local walks meant we stayed nearby mostly. The place itself is amazing staff are attentive, the pool is bliss. And we are only 5 mins from Sa Pa town. What I don’t like is being forced to decide if I having breakfast every day at £9 per day having just come from a 10 hr journey by car from Ha Long Bay. Then the next day being forced to decide, before I’d been into town what activities I’d like to book. I say forced, because the manager presented it as their option is the only bonafide option. After saying yes yes all looks great but I’ll check out town too, we left it. Having met some folks in town I booked a day trek at £20 not the $85 clay house were charging. Short story, I came and told them and boy did that cause a recuse. No no you can’t cancel we already booked, and okay you have good luck with police on private trek. I’d booked the trek through getyourguide and showed them the booking. Anyway, the pool is bliss, has calmed me down. We stayed in the bamboo hut and it was really unique experience. Bed was comfortable and they even have a wooden bath tub. We had an amazing view when we open our doors. Big thanks to Hai for the 10/10 hospitality and helpful suggestions of activities for us. We enjoyed the market tour & the cooking class, which was our lunch on that day. We extended 1 more night because we love the place so much especially the infinity pool. We had three meals there and the ingredients were mostly home grown and very fresh and tasty. We slept in one of the bungalows overlooking the rice fields and the view was stunning, even on mornings when there was some fog. The bed was comfortable and the room was unique and charming. The resort is run by a family, which only adds to the charm. The manager was attentive, helpful, and friendly - he even waited up late for us when our bus was late! He gave us excellent recommendations for activities and food, called us taxis whenever we needed one (and we paid less this way), and was fun to chat to. The whole family was delightful, helpful, and fun to be around. And of course, they had the cutest dog! I also highly recommend the food at Sapa Clay House. The breakfast was so good that we came back on day for lunch! The ingredients are fresh and local, and we could taste the difference.
