The corridors, room and lift seemed like they were new. A good shower with plenty of hot water and good water pressure. Excellent location for the Skyline Gondola and zip wire etc - just walking distance. But need to drive into the centre of Rotorua. They gave us great local recommendations about what to do though 😉. And the finale was the breakfast! It looked like the family (that operate this hotel) was just recycling their dinner- crusty dumplings, plane fried rice, reheated spring rolls…. To be fair- there was fresh bacon, canned beans and weathered eggs. No coffee, instant one with “help yourself kettle”. $20/person if you book in advance, or $25 on the spot. When asked, he placed it on the desk without saying anything and neglected eye contact, continued his work. This was very disappointing if you are asking for something, and get very poor response. When I called for the confirmation of the room, the lady on the phone didn’t respond well too, just asked me to check on the website (the irrelevant answer of asked question).
