ABode Canterbury

8/10 Good
"Pros The location is fantastic. You are literally on the high street, with shops, restaurants and the cathedral etc. within a few minutes walk. The staff were very nice and helpful. The room was well stocked with tea and coffee, ironing board and safe. Breakfast was good, especially the cooked breakfast. Cons The bed was extremely soft and gave us backache, and the divan underneath was a bit grubby in places. The ceiling in the corridors upstairs was chipped and some were bowing. As it's a 4 star hotel, I would expect it to be better maintained. The shower had black mould on the shower head, and it was scalding hot, even on the lower setting. The bath was hard to get into as the screen didn't move. The bar is really nice, but the staff often left it unattended, and forgot to bring cutlery when bringing out bar food. The carpark is expensive at £25 a day."
