The location was less than a mile from St. Peter's Square, which I visited every day. It was clean and safe as a solo traveler, with many dining options. The Quodlibet in turn is clean and inviting and so so charming with breakfast on the roof. And it's situated near the metro and close to lots of shopping and restaurants. I traveled with my granddaughters and felt totally safe the whole time we were there. And if we ever should return, we would be staying here again. This is a very clean, fully serviced, safe property with outstanding service from the team. Lizette and team are incredibly warm, welcoming and inviting and go out of their way to ensure your needs are met. The entire vibe of the place is cozy and welcoming. The bathroom shower products etc are really lovely too! The team are also very knowledgeable and helpful in terms of transit support and directions and transit to / from the airport and port area. It is very centrally located in walking distance to the Vatican and hop on / hop off buses / transit etc. We really appreciated the support to get to the port in terms of transportation. What a wonderful experience. We were picked up on time at the airport by pre-arranged chauffeur . The manager Gianluca, gave us a brief, but very informative map tour of the sites which we were able to walk to. The roof top breakfast was exceptional. The staff was friendly and welcoming. Gianluca helped us extend our trip for an extra day. The location is central to the main attractions, collesium, forum, trevi fountain etc. The rooms were clean and well stocked. Nice HOT water. The stay aft QuodLibet / Casa Martini was excellent. I selected this accommodation after a thorough search. What I look for in a stay is good personal service and location above all. Judging by reviews many people were staying here for the second, third or fourth time and after my stay I understand why. Gianluca really tried to understand what we wanted to do while in Rome, what kinds of activities and food we like and made great suggestions for things to see, do and places to eat. Every morning the staff cooked eggs, made toast to order and they also had fresh fruit, coffee and yoghurt. Breakfast is served in a cozy area on the rooftop. The location is excellent as there is a metro stop a few steps away and the Vatican museums only around a 10 minute walk. Near the metro stop there is a really good coffee shop / gelateria called Lemongrass perfect for a quick espresso before heading out to see the sights. Of the places we ate in the neighbourhood there was one place I can't recommend enough and that's Pizzeria Giacomelli. We had dinner there three times in our 6 days in Rome. THANK YOU to Gianluca (Owner & Operator) for your gracious hospitality and attention to detail in all aspects of our stay! From arrival to departure...the Owner and staff went above and beyond! Our arrival flight to Rome from the US was delayed over 5 hours...but Gianluca was able to adjust our airport transportation in real time to make sure our driver was there when we landed. Upon arrival at QuodLibet, he greeted us warmly and stayed after hours to get is checked in and situated. Our room was clean and in good order, and the great staff here made sure it was tip-top each day. The daily rooftop terrace breakfasts are amazing...with MTO eggs, plates of meats & cheese, baskets of toasted bread, sweet croissants with spreads, coffee to order, juices and yogurts...a great way to start the day! The location is perfect, with one-block access to the Metro and an easy 5-10 minute walk to the Vatican and other points of interest nearby. Markets and food options are plentiful in this neighborhood. It's a 2 minute walk to the nearest bar or restaurant....with options abounding 5-10 minutes away by foot. Please note...the rooms of QuodLibet are located on the 4th floor of the building. What an exceptional gem. We are a family of four and LOVED this stay. First time to Rome, it was AWESOME. VERY close to the Metro. A 5 minute walk to the Vatican. The breakfast was SPECTACULAR. We goofed and didn’t book in time to come back and chose another guesthouse; BIG difference. Here are my suggestions 1\. The restaurants around the Ottaviano are cheaper and consistently pretty good. Pizza and donner kebab great. Very little English spoken. 2\. The location is away from crowds and seemingly very safe. I trusted my 14 yo son to walk back about 8 blocks alone. 3\. The gelato recommendations very good. Restaurant recommendations geared more to the Italian palate (my kids did not like). Would look for “tourist” haunts. 4\. Gianluca and his staff made this trip great. Eating breakfast on the rooftop was VERY special. 5\. I would suggest the Metro pass immmediatley. While we walked around Rome extensively….i would probably Metro first and walk less. 6\. Out the exit to the right of Barberini (Trevi Fountain) and left at the top of the stairs was the BEST pasta we ate (and great steak). 7\. I would probably defer to other gelato places than the one on the corner. Exceptionally mediocre. One on the way to Trevi had organic and natural and our #1\. 8\. Be careful booking tours through Viator. Nonrefundable if you miss. BUT great tour guides.
