The area is very safe and walkable; I was out walking alone (female) until all hours of the night checking out the busier tourist attractions/sights and never felt unsafe. I would also get up and go out before sunrise to beat the crowds (then sleep during the day because it was so hot & crowded.) He offered us help for places to eat, transportation, and things to do. He went out of his way to help and ensure we enjoyed the area and got to the train station. My only suggestion is an upgrade to a better quality mattress. You could feel the boxsprings. I put a pillow between the mattress and boxspring which solved the issue for me. I would gladly stay there again. Grocery store across the street. Plenty of restaurants. Piazza Cavour just around the corner to relax in. Walkable location to the sights. Quiet, nice room, clean, safe, and friendly host. Loved it. Anyways, I recommend to save some money and stay in hotels close to Borghese villa. FYI Rome turned out to be a complete disappointment, very overpriced, overrated, dirty, with rude people, like a third world country.
