We booked this place for two nights, but our flight to Rome was cancelled and we were arriving only the next day. I called the hotel, talked to the owner Evy. Let her know that our flight was cancelled but we are still coming. I asked her if we will have any troubles checking in early morning. She assured me that they will have a person at check in (as I understood rage have a limited front desk hours). When we arrived at 9 am we were told that they sold our room for the night our flight was cancelled to someone else and we have to wait to get the room. We have asked why should we pay for the room if they sold it someone else and we should either get S refund or have our room ready now.
Long story short. We checked in only at 2pm and paid for two nights, including the one they sold to other people. And the only explanation we received was that they sold it on Expedia as a last minute reservation and they cannot refund us because Orbitz (where I booked the room) takes 50% fee and tgey will have to pay it from there pocket.
This is the most ridiculous explanation from the owner I have ever heard. By the way when we called Orbitz to complain the owner told them that they had a repair going on in our room and they will get it ready as soon as it's done. Too bad we were staying in the lobby that minute and the place is really small about 5-6 rooms and there were no sight of repair.
I am glad I meet other nice Italian people, because the first impression was very disappointing.
