Nice place to stay but far from most attractions
The place was very clean and tidy and the owners were very kind. It is a short 15 min walk to the Colosseum. But a far walk from everything else. There are 2 flights of stairs to climb before you reach the lift to take you the rest of the way to the 3rd floor. They allowed us to check in early which was very helpful. I would stay again

Amazing customer service and location
The guest house owner is just fantastic! I’m a big worldwide travelers. I came from LA and my bestie from Paris. He recommanded us all the good spots to visit and eat and was fun! Most importantly, he allowed us to leave our luggages on check out date in his office but let me tell you what happened besides that! After we left the hotel with our luggages and made our way to the bus station (10’ walk) to go to the airport, i realized I forgot my phone in his office!!! I obviously panicked because we were already in the bus ( paid) to go to the airport and our fight was leaving in 2 hours. The time for us to get out of the bus and try to figure out an option with taxi (56$ when traffic to FCO) to get my phone back.., I turn around and see Agusto with my IPhone 8!! This man made his way to the bus station ( leaving his son behind) just to make sure I don’t stress and leave without my phone!!! How honest and considerate is that! I almost cried! He went out of his way for us with everything needed and this deserves a 10/10!! I recommande this place, extremely well located! Cheap and 5-7 mins’ walk to Colosseo/ Roman forum and Subway! 10/15 mins walk to Termini train/ main bus station and plenty of bars/ restaurants/ convenient and gift shops all around! The only thing is that elevator is on second floor and bathroom are tiny but for the prices it’s really not a big deal! I totally recommend this place, go for it and spend your money on activities! :-) Thank you Augusto!!!

Casa Cleo answers the basic needs, private bathroom, clean towels every 2 days, clean big room and Augusto is great. The stairs is too much when you are tired from walking around the city. Make sure you can handle your luggage climbing more than 25 steps because that is where the elevator is. The bed was wide but too hard of a surface for us. On a good note, this place is a short walk to the attractions. The bathroom is tight but clean with a good water flow.Make sure to ask all questions when you check in as there is not a soul in the office when we wanted to ask a question. Usually, Augusto or his brother will be there mid morning when they clean the rooms. Additional cost when you check in: tourist tax which is €3/ person per night and if you check in late, that is € 20 additional. We have not used their breakfast as we did not really understand where to go for it and it’s coffee and croissant.

It’s clean and the room has enough space, but when we got there no one was there (I called some hours before, to let them know at what time we were arriving) we had to wait in the street until someone (not from the hotel) opened and we got in but still had to wait outside the hotel’s door until another guest came and opened the door and kindly called the owner to let her know, we were there, the the man who gave me the key, wanted to charge me again with what I had already payed through Expedia.com, until the owner arrived and explained the guy that I already payed, it was not a pleasant moment, plus he only speaked Italian. The shower is too small (really) and the shower is broken, water falls everywhere except whereit is needed to shower, making showering very difficult. If you need a clean place just to sleep, this could work, I stayed in 2 hotels during this trip and this one the one I liked the least.

Authentic
Casa Cleo was like living in an authentic Roman home. The front is an in assuming green door on the street. You have to climb a flight and a half of marble steps to get to the elevator or three to get to the floor the room is on but it was worth it. Augusto and Martha were wonderful hosts giving us a map of the city and all the things to do unfortunately the phone number on the website is incorrect and I'm not allowed to post it here but it only took about 10 minutes to get in touch with them. The room was better than expected very clean spacious a very cool courtyard out the window and a nice bathroom, we were in room three. The only negative was the bed was a little hard in the middle because it was a converted two bed to one bed setup. They gave us a pot to boil water for coffee and tea upon request. It was so close to everything we were able to walk although we did get tired. I highly recommend Casa Cleo.

Perfect price-quality ratio
If you want a comfortable, clean place to get back to after your traveling adventures, Casa Cleo is the place to be. The hotel is located on the 3rd floor of a residential building of a busy, yet wonderful street. The elevator was old styled and needed a key and a coin to operate, so you had to climb the stairs the first time you arrived. The coins were shortly provided by the owner, who was a nice, friendly man. He provided us with a map and tips for the greatest landmarks, even though his English was not great. The room was a delight. There was a huge, comfortable bed, soft pillows, a desk, a wardrobe, a safe and night tables. There was even an extra blanket, which was needed despite the fact that the heating worked fine. The real delight was the bathroom though. It was an external, private bathroom, very close to our room, which had a magnificent shower. It had doors that closed perfectly, the water was hot (at least after 10pm when I showered) and the pressure was adequate for a relaxing shower. Big towels were provided. However, no need to say that everything was sparkling clean. Throughout our three night stay, the hotel was always quiet. The breakfast was a croissant and coffee in a cafe downstairs, not amazing but fine. The beds were made daily. The location was convenient and felt safe. Generally, if you are looking for a really cheap, good place to complete your adventure in Rome, this one does not disappoint. Thank you Casa Cleo
