Sometimes your mind needs a change of scenery to make room for good ideas again. That’s exactly what the KREATIVPAUSE is for: a compact apartment in the Upper Palatinate Forest Nature Park where you can work with focus while feeling like you’re truly somewhere else.

WHAT AWAITS YOU HERE

26 square metres, thoughtfully designed for one person or a couple. You open the door and step into a bright, quiet space that doesn’t have to choose between being a workspace and a retreat. Here, both are possible without one interfering with the other. At the centre is a height-adjustable desk with an ergonomic office chair, which sets the tone for your entire stay. You can work sitting or standing, with a setup that still works even after eight hours. Fiber-optic Wi-Fi ensures stable video calls, and power outlets for your laptop, second monitor, and headset are right where you need them. You’ll sleep in a double bed with a 1.60-meter-wide mattress. The kitchenette is equipped for more than just espresso and quick meals. The bathroom is bright and spacious.

PERFECT FOR

The KREATIVPAUSE is intentionally not for everyone. It’s ideal for people who work remotely and realise that their home office sometimes feels too cramped. For self-employed people who want to finalise a concept or finish writing a manuscript without constantly switching between emails and the laundry basket. For couples who work at the same time and want to go for a walk in the woods together in the evening. For anyone who needs a real break from everyday life and their work to regain clarity.

THE REGION

Rötz is located in the heart of the Upper Palatinate Forest, about an hour from Regensburg and just under half an hour from the Czech border. The region is surprisingly peaceful and surprisingly diverse. You can hike along the Goldsteig, one of Germany’s most beautiful long-distance hiking trails, which runs right through the region. You can swim in nearby Lake Eixendorf or continue on to Lake Murner in the Upper Palatinate Lake District. You can bike through valleys where you’ll hardly encounter anyone. You can visit the Upper Palatinate Craft Museum in Hillstett, just a few minutes’ walk away. In the evening, you can sit down at one of the local taverns, where the menu is still handwritten and the innkeeper comes to your table to welcome you.

ABOUT ME ALS HOSTESS

PRACTICAL INFORMATION

To get here by car, take the A93 Regensburg–Weiden, exit at Schwarzenfeld, then take State Road 2151 towards Neunburg vorm Wald and continue on to Rötz. By train to Schwandorf, then continue by bus or taxi. Parking is available right at the house. Minimum stay: two nights. Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate pets.

A CREATIVE BREAK doesn’t mean nothing happens here. It means that you decide for yourself what happens: deep focus, long walks, finishing a book, working out a concept, or simply doing nothing for three days.
