I like that Double Tree was clean and I felt safe, considering I was traveling alone. However, I was quite surprised that I had to pay $14 per day to park in their parking lot! My room was not cleaned on the 3 days I was there, however, the cleaning staff attempted the 1st day but I was not ready to leave. I guess I should have told the front desk on the mornings I was prepared to leave.

The hotel was right across the street from the NASCAR museum and about a 4 block walk from where the action in the city is....restaurants, shops, museums, theater. Hilton owns multiple properties in Charlotte. Although I did not "experience" the action for my first 2 nights of my 3 day stay, the "drag" racing on the street that separated the hotel from the NASCAR museum on my last night was a bit annoying... I assume it does not happen that often. All in all, it was a great "last" stop on my 7 week journey reacquainting myself with this great country of ours on its 250th birthday.
