Mother-Daughter trip

The home was very clean and cozy. Had the feel and personality of visiting friends at their cabin. My daughter and I stayed 5 nights and had our friends - another mother-daughter couple - stay with us for 2 days. We enjoyed a drive along the Cherohala Skyway, hiking the Joyce Kilmer double loop trail, visiting nearby Marie's Lavendar Farm, and more. It's beautiful to sit on the dock by Lake Santeelah, though the short walk across the street is a little tricky because there is no shoulder on the road. The commication from the company that manages this property is one-way generic information sent through email only. I had sent messages through VRBO app asking questions with no response. They did not communicate check-in information through the app, but in an email only and not until right before our trip (I like when the app is my 'one stop shop' for information, but my communication with Evolve is only 3 messages from me with no responses). Recommendations (in addition to the above): * Lunch at T. Dubbs * Cafe de Olla (it's one of the few reataurants that are open on Sundays) * Hike up Hooper Bald to the clearing to see the wild flame azaleas (when they're in bloom beg-mid June).

Kay’s Cabin

The cabin was very neat and clean. We had everything we wanted and needed. Down to great towels, two coffee pots, plenty of pots and utensils. The beds were so comfy. We sat on the front porch and enjoyed our view of the lake. We walked down to the pier and fished off of it…not much luck but fun! Floated around in the lake on loungers we brought with us. We brought an enclosed trailer for our motorcycles and had no trouble going up and down the short gravel drive. The only thing we had trouble with was getting the trailer turned around in the driveway. I had to get a hitch tire quick shipped from Amazon(arrived in two days) then we were able to push it around and hook to truck easily. The area was beautiful. 15 minutes from Tapoco Lodge, 25 from the Dragon and 25 to the Cherahola! We would love to come back there!!
