"DO NOT BOOK MINT HOUSE thru Expedia. We could not access the property after 3 failed attempts to contact Mint House standing outside the property for over one hour in 90 degree weather in Tampa, Florida. They do not accept Expedia's Itinerary number and would only honor their booking number which was never given to us by Expedia. Two other people outside the property had the same problem and they both acknowlege booking thru Expedia. We had to book another hotel last minute in the area. BE WARNED!!!! Very disappointed at Expedia"

"I had a really good stay here overall! When I first arrived to check in, the front‑desk lady wasn’t the friendliest and didn’t offer much information or suggestions. I arrived earlier than the normal check‑in time, and even though I had requested early check‑in, the room wasn’t ready — which I completely understood. The issue wasn’t the wait, it was her attitude and lack of communication, which wasn’t very inviting. After that, everything went much better. My toilet wasn’t flushing properly and the sink wasn’t draining, but as soon as I called the front desk, maintenance came right away and took care of it with no problem. I must say the shower isn't always hot. The rest of the staff truly made the stay shine. The lady and gentleman working the pool bar were extremely attentive, friendly, and helpful — they both provided great service. The bartenders in the lounge area were also very nice and welcoming. My room was clean, comfortable, and perfect for relaxing. And the location? Amazing. Just steps from most events in Ybor and super close to the free trolley, which made getting around so easy. Even with the check‑in hiccup, I would definitely stay here again and recommend it"

"Be aware of the neighborhood… Had used this hotel for Moffitt trips, a few years ago, and decided to go back again. The hotel is nice,, quiet, clean, staff is very good, and the front desk was excellent (Tammy. I think) The location is still excellent; walk all around historic Ybor, historic trolley (half block from hotel) to downtown Tampa Bay, Unfortunately, the neighborhood has deteriorated; severe homelessness and everything that goes along with it. IMO it would not be safe for a single female to walk alone, even during the day. My husband and I walked, during the early evening light, to dinner (Columbia 15 min. walk from hotel) ) but coming out at dark we decide to take an Uber back. Sadly, this is not a problem the hotel can control, so will not be corrected anytime soon."
