Have stayed here multiple times as my son attends UT….always clean with friendly helpful staff.. the restaurant is convenient for a quick bite or a cocktail… the hotel is right by the river walk, which is nice to take a long walk or jog… walking distance to the campus and complimentary shuttles offered as well…

The Barrymore Hotel has a pretty good location along the Riverwalk. The staff we spoke with were very friendly and professional. The hotel is clean but pretty outdated. The double rooms were pretty tight and the A/C unit blew straight into your face if sleeping on the adjacent bed which wasn’t ideal.

We love the location of the Barrymore. So close to campus. The bar area was fantastic with some great food choices. They had a complimentary happy hour on Wednesday which was really nice. We didn’t have hot water in our showers I guess that was not too bad considering how hot it was outside!! If you want somewhere close to campus I recommend.

We arrived on Wine Wednesday and were treated to a surprise—a top quality charcuterie board and complimentary drinks from 4-5 PM. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast and dinner at the hotel restaurant and used the free shuttle service to go to the aquarium. The hotel is just across the street from the Straz Performing Arts Center and perfectly located to walk to local museums. The property is also pet friendly and we plan to return in December 2026 with our dog.
