"Very friendly reception at hotel who helped us check in early as room was available. The room was clean and had a kettle and tea as well as some local snacks. Water was also provided although tap water is also drinkable. It was quiet and about a ten minute walk to the Shambles. Also many restaurants nearby, including non pub food!!"

"Very pleasant stay, relaxed in the pool after a long day on our feet in York centre. The Swimming Pool is not that big but adequate but feels full with about 10 people in. Think we were lucky with our timing. There is a Sauna also. City Centre only 5mins by Uber and cheap. We went back into City for a night out. Breakfast was really Nice, even had items Gluten Free for my Wife who is Coeliac. Nice view of the Race Course from back of Hotel. Overall Very nice Hotel"

"Perfect location to explore York on foot and nice breakfast with a good selection. The waffle maker was great. Large comfortable seating area by reception with a bar. Iced tap water available there too which was appreciated. Reception staff were helpful and friendly. Didn’t really see any staff at breakfast for the first couple of days but we worked everything out! Everything was clean except a rug in our bedroom that looked dirty. The beds were ok but the duvet cover and duvets were different sizes so it wasn’t very comfortable. I asked at reception but they said it was the same everywhere and nothing was changed. Peel road car park is the closest car park and is a few minutes walk away. The hotel offers discounts at different car parks but you have to ask, we didn’t get told anything beforehand. You don’t get a discount at peel but when we stayed the price was still cheaper than the other car parks. Reception helped us with all of this when we arrived and it all went smoothly."
