Medium level hotel, very old. But anyway the amenities are wonderful and beach services perfectly. Chairs, meals drinks services perfect in the beach and swimming pool as well. Brazilian breakfast in a good level. Very well located in front of the beach. The rooms are very old and not very clean. But acceptable for beach days.

Amazing place
The hotel is well located, safe place, several restaurants nearby, our room had a sea view and a balcony, beach area reserved for hotel guests, with chairs and clean towels. The furniture could be updated. Super attentive and professional staff
great location, beautiful view,
very very old mold infested budling which is a health concern
Active phone in the room to reach front desk is needed
Needs a cafe with food options for lunch and dinner
English speaking front desk- took us 30min to check in and manager has to be called
I would give property amenities and location 4 stars, but our room itself between 2 or 3. The location is so quiet unlike Copacabana and Ipanema. The beach is quiet and the crew that rents chairs are wonderful. Our room was disappointing mostly because the potential was so large.
First the good: breakfast had a decent selection, the heated pool was a nice touch, kids play area was wonderful when we needed a change of scenery. We ordered “room service” burgers and it turned out they were from the market inside, and were frozen (but not bad for price)! The staff was nice but didn’t want to lift a finger to help us book any day trips or give recommendations. The restaurants in and around the hotel were decent but not knock your socks off. Hotel provides towels for pool and for beach.
Not good: we stayed first floor 101. As soon as you exit the elevator you can smell the musty smell of water damaged, then see it along base boards as you walk the hallway. Our room was BEAUTIFUL with so much potential but dated with a strong smell of urine and standing water we had to open our patio doors to let it air out. The master tub didn’t drain properly leaving water standing as you shower, the toilet seat had chipped paint, and we had to request a change in the master bedding because the sheets were so worn they weren’t soft anymore. I felt gross walking around without shoes, and wouldn’t have used dishes before washing. The amenities truly made the property worth recommending.

The property was poorley maintained and there was also a lot of mould in eating area on the roof and our room 505. Some lifts were out of order. Pool grounds and pool.edges need a good clean over. The managment team should be ashamed of themselves.

Cleaning staff makes an excellent job!
Nice Hotel. Umbrella and towel service for the beach is great! Cleaning staff makes an amazing job. breakfast was a bit boring. only the cakes got mixed. cheese and meet everyday the same. But i will come back next year for sure!
The property location is great , the overall building appeal is great. Looks like when it was built it was splendid. But I dont think they invested a single dollar since. This is by far the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. I have have travel to 50 countries for now, almost all of Europe( UK, France, Spain, Monaco, Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Belgium, Netherlands, Czech, Etc etc), few Asia ( Singapore, Indonesia), few Africa ( South Africa, Mali, Etzwatini, Burkina Faso), Few Middle East (UAE, Egypt, Qatar, Israel, Oman) The Americas almost all of it. I stayed at some of the most Luxurious brand Ritz, Andaz, Etc etc including Whydham sometimes. This property in Barra has been my worst experience, no water in rooms, no coffee, no tea as complementary in the room you have to buy, They remove the soiled towels they dont replace them automatically, you have request them after the clean the room, The furniture probably dated since opening, the TV was a 32 - 36 inches. The front desk staff was was so rude, rolling eyes when pressing for service, slamming key card when confronted. I had to speak to the manager because I had an early flight, prior to breakfast open, all other hotels will provide a to go box, none of that existed at that hotel, that manager was pleasant and apologize for this lack of service . You're probably wondering this, yes I was in the Master King suite . so you can imagine how the rest of the rooms were. I stayed there for 4 nights. Horrible experience

It wasn't what I expected. The floors were sweaty the first 2 days of my stay. The furniture is out dated/old. Also we couldn't get a late check out. The staff was really nice and helpful

I know the location well and its great. When we got to our room, it had minimal furnishings which is ok. They told us only one key per room even though we were 2 guests. The shower handle was broken, so they moved us to another room, said it was an upgrade. It wasn't an upgrade and it didn't have a balcony. The shower was a tub with dirty broken grout. The pool is great. In summary i hope they can get this great property in better shape.
Need renovation of wood parts, doors for instance. Need renovation of bathrooms, very small bench, too wold (I use to stay at the hotel since 2002, since it was a Sheraton brand).

Our stay was okay, although a few things could have been better.
The heater in the room didn’t work só the room was 16degrees the first day/night..
The pool area was nice but not enough chairs and sunchairs. Also the rules around the pool were quite strict which with kids was a little issue.
The breakfast was nothings special and could have expected more for a hotel this size.
On the positive the room was large and perfect for the 4 of us and both the pool and beach staff were nice.
Hotel have beautiful views of the beach but the overall all cleanliness of the place was supper bad, had to change room because the shower had a really bad stain that couldn’t be fixed. In the new room same problem and they really need to look into upgrading furniture plush do and excessive cleaning.
There was a construction going on in the room above us, after complaining for 3 days, they finally moved us to another room, also with construction happening in a room above ours. And the rooms are old and dirty. Worst experience ever!
