What we really liked about this hotel? I must say 5 stars for breakfast, great choice, lots of fruit, and great choice of everything, fresh and tasty. Another great thing was location, close to metro, taxi and activities. Some staff was nice but they did not speak english. Where ever we fo we expect that somebody would speak english as well. Room was avarage, towels and bedding could be cleaner. I could smell mould from mouldy walls. We only were happy with the shower.

It's a great hotel for the location. Near Cinelandia and Lapa, short ride to several businesses, consulates and Santos Dumont airport. Perfect view of the Sugar Loaf mountain from the rooftop by the pool. Staff was attentive and helped with what they could. However during my stay, the boiler broke down and there was no hot water for several hours into the night, so no hot shower that day. I also was shocked they didn't have a proper business center (with a "business " name and everything). TV only had local channels and awful signal, so couldn't even check/watch some of the World Cup. Wifi was a hit or miss, often only working in the lobby area. 2 elevators and one was under repairs, so 1 elevator for 19 floors, I was using the stairs often. Breakfast was excellent. If they fixed whatever wasn't working during my stay, it's a great hotel.

The room was clean but I had two issues and I was that the room was really small and there was really no hot water in the sink. The shower had hot water and was decent but these were the two issues I have with the room. I picked this because it had a gym and although the rooftop pool area was nice the gym would be better if they had some kind of weight equipment.

This was the absolute worst hotel we have seen in our lifetime. It was so unbelievable that we had to document it with fotos because no one would believe the story. First we arrived and only one elevator was working. We had to walk up the stairs and then the lights in the room wouldn’t come on. The desk attendant was rude and then they moved us to another room. The shower had black mold all throughout and the bed was stained and dirty. Just an unbelievable experience and I warn anyone booking this property to stay at your own risk.
