Perfect location for Richmond town centre and for travelling to local tourist attractions. There is parking but not for all rooms so it you’re not lucky to get a space then you need to park in pay and display car parks.
Only stayed 1 night , but plenty of shops , restaurants , eateries in the village high street .

Clean room even though it was small, newly renovated bathroom, nice towels and bedding, comfortable beds. Old historical hotel with character though seating could be more comfy
Friendly bar staff
Bonus having free parking at the property

Room was clean staff we’re really friendly and happy to help , there was parking available the hotel was right in the centre of Richmond so lots of shops restaurants and pubs on the door step , the food was lovely and we had no issues at all with our stay and would return
Brand new bathrooms lovely rooms history of a 400 year old building not lost. Staff even more amazing helpful and extremely knowledgeable about the area. Made the stay even better.
A lovely stay in this beautiful old pub/hotel. Perfect location for bars and restaurants. Staff very warm and friendly.
I had the single room for a one night stay visiting my son at Catterick. The room was spotless. Very comfortable single bed, gorgeous bathroom with products and well stocked tea and coffee (very important and usually lacking in hotel rooms!). Don’t forget an eye mask if you are a sensitive sleeper though as there’s a small green flashing light on the ceiling!
It was fine for an overnight stop well stocked bar, breakfast a bit pricey if you do not take advantage of the full buffet, we had an evening meal that was fair.
Our room 14 was right at the top of the building and not best access for a couple in their seventies very winding steep stairs, but we do appreciate it is a very old building. We also had a very strong smell in the bathroom and had to leave the fan on to keep it at bay.
Staff were friendly and helpful
Very hospitable staff, food and beer were excellent. Excellent location. Parking was a bit tight, and a bit tortuous to the rooms, but overall it was pretty much as expected, and an enjoyable stay.
Excellent central location in Richmond. Good price for a two room suite (one room with double bed, another with two singles) and also the fact that breakfast was included in the price.
The Black Lion is well positioned, Food Good, Beers a good choice, Breakfast Good.
Room a bit dated but acceptable for a night or two.

This is a wonderful traditional inn located within a nice, quiet, walkable village. Wi-Fi and cable television are unreliable, but that's what you get when you are out in the countryside. The dinner we had, along with the breakfast, was wonderful, and we loved taking a stroll near the river and the waterfalls.
