Often named as one of the best beaches in the UK and even the world, Rhossili Beach in the Gower Peninsula is unsurprisingly a popular attraction. It has also been called the “supermodel of British beaches” by The Independent because of its good looks, as well as the UK’s most dog-friendly beach by The Times.

So, it’s fair to say that Rhossili Beach is universally agreed to be a beautiful spot. With three miles of sandy shoreline, including the famous Worms Head, it is certainly striking. Add to that the fact that it’s popular with surfers and other watersports enthusiasts thanks to the Atlantic swell, plus some stunning cliff-top walks, and it becomes a complete package.

Rhossili Beach is accessed from the small village at Rhossili. It’s a bit of a walk from there down to the bay but well worth the effort. It’s the combination of breathtaking views and relative seclusion that add to its charm. Parking and other facilities are available about 400 yards from the beach itself.

There are a few safety considerations to consider at Rhossili, including some sunken wrecks if you’re surfing. If you’re heading over to Worm’s Head, then you need to inform someone at the Coastwatch Centre in case you get cut off by the tide.

Rhossili Beach’s position on the tip of the Gower gives it unique and incredible views. This, along with the wildlife and an unspoiled nature, sets it apart from other beaches.

Very steep descent to beach and may not be suitable for dogs as there are jellyfish, crabs and starfish on the beach.
