What a gem of a place this was! Fabulous breakfast, hosts were amazing & went out of their way to help make your stay the best possible. Fantastic location, so peaceful & beautiful. Wood fired hot tub was amazing too!! We will return soon! Thank you so much Wendy & David!

Hidden luxury away from the busyness

David and Wendy were amazing hosts, and very accommodating for someone like me who was travelling solo. The views from the lodge were stunning, breakfast delicious and bed very comfortable. Thank you for a gorgeous stay.

Wendy and David, our hosts, were wonderful! They worked well as a team to prepare our amazing breakfasts (David's excellent homemade granola) with delicious juice and coffee options. They also have excellent suggestions of things to do and see + restaurant recommendations. Wendy even gave us a ride to the hiking path to town which was a great option. Wow--we couldn't have asked for better service. In addition, there is a yoga/workout room, sauna , and jacuzzi. Absolutely incredible views from our room. The BEST stay, thanks to our wonderful hosts, location and accommodations. Highly recommend.

Stayed 2 nights in the lovely large Tahi room. Enjoyed sitting by the window looking at the lake & mountain view. Breakfast was lovely too, thanks chef. Friendly hosts. Thx Wendy & David We had a car but bus stop into town very close by up the driveway. Ate in town & at ‘Lokal’ Fernhill…Tasty meals - loaded pizza & roast veggie salad.

New Zealand Paradise

Stunning views of lake and mountains out every window! Chef-prepared cook-to-order breakfast (delicious!) We enjoyed the sauna, wood-fire hot tub, and plush robes. Comfortable lounge with floor to ceiling windows; I curled up there to read a good book and have a cup of tea in the evenings. Lodge had not many rooms, so it was quiet and felt very private. Staff was wonderful, very welcoming and accommodating. Couldn’t recommend any higher.

What a wonderful place to stay- more like a home than a hotel. David and Wendy were terrific hosts. Excellent soy latte and perfect poached eggs on sourdough for breakfast. We also availed ourselves of the hot tub which takes a while to prepare, but is amazing to sit out on a cool evening and watch the spectacular lightshow of the Remarkables at sunset. Would definitely return!

I know they call it hidden lodge, but in reality it is what we in the UK would call a detached house with a number of bedrooms with enquires attached. Here each bedroom is given an individual name & called a 'lodge'! The room itself was ok. Nothing out of the ordinary but the bathroom definitely needed renovation. Seemed very tired. The hottub is a log fire driven one and our host Dave said it was a lot of hassle to do and would cost an extra 200nzd. There was no mention of this in the website when we booked. Breakfast is fair, although do not dare ask for more than one item off of the menu. You are allowed one item & one item alone. Those are there rules! On our final day it started to rain overnight and although it wasn't heavy, the roof started leaking in the kitchen, which in all honesty only added to the atmosphere. The rain was coming in from a number of points but guess what, our host Dave was no where to be seen. We had a flight at 1pm and were heading off to the airport straight after breakfast anyway. But this did not stop the young lady they have cleaning the rooms barging in and start cleaning whilst I was taking the suitcases down to the car! Bit awkward , but there you have it. She couldn't wait a few more minutes apparently.

Hidden Gem in Queenstown

My wife and I had an amazing experience at this lodge. I would definitely stay there again as they offered more than an amazing place to stay, they provided an experience to speak with some locals who have the BEST recs on what to do and are just great people to talk to. We also tried the hot tub which was a great experience. It's just outside of town so you feel removed but close enough to take a nice walk or local bus. Great location and amazing views I can't say enough good things about this place and the amazing people that run it. You feel like family!

This was our second stay at this property whilst on honeymoon. Once again, we were the only guests in the lodge. Service as previous was excellent and the breakfast was excellent also. We did use the hot tub in this instance which was nice but requires some notice and we thought it was a bit pricey at $80.

It was a memorable stay for a memorable occasion. We were the only guests in the lodge at the time and this made it extra special. We subsequently decided to stay 3 more nights at the end of the trip. Breakfast was fantastic. Hosts were very pleasant and responsive.
